hey... i just now try to take photo with my n82 hor..but sth bad happened...
i slide down the cover of the lens..but the phone never turn to photo camera mode le...
the lens looks like no respond...
T.T
can anyone tel me how to solve tis problem ar? i'm so sad now..

im gonna pick up this phone due on wednesday. can't wait to snappin' pictures! especially during the nite!

Any firmware update lately?

Updated the first day I got the phone. No problems what so ever as far as I know.

Does the camera respond when u open the shutter then manually press the camera application?

same problem with u BEFORE... 1st few days.. oni no respond of opening lens.. after that guess what happened ? it will AUTO switching on & off the camera mode.. because of my lens is closing.. the n82 keep repeating the anoyying things.. then i planned take to TESTRA claim it.. i off the phone and taken out the sims card.. use my dad's NOKIA 1110 for ONE day, after that day i try to test my n82 for the last time before i send to telstra.. dunno why... the problem disappeared until TODAY.. impossible izzit ? but its truth..

but mine is due to falling on the floor...HARD.

a few knockings do the job...but sometimes the problem will come back.

well did u happens to knock it or fall down or strong shaking?

just receive my set. the camera was superb! i just snap 50++ photos for about 30mins.
but the screen is like blue-ish. is this normal?

is it the environment light issue? i found out that if i use my phone on places that use yellowish lights, my screen will turn blue-ish also...

EDIT: Question for N82 gurus & veterans; Currently I'm using Best Torch v1.0, its nice but its not very bright at all. Any good "torchlight" apps to recommend?

Any new firmware available? Cause I read a news say that new browser is avaible for symbian 5th and 3rd edition.

when manually press camera application, only the 3G's camera is working, even i open the slide of the lens.. T.T

but the problem is...if i send to repair..nid wait at least 5days only can finish repair le...den like tat i got no phone use d...

i didnt knock or fall down my phone le...i just put in it pocket as usual... but suddenly tat day i wan use camera snap some photos only realize it is not functioning... sigh...

Since N82 is xenon flash, you cannot use it as LED torchlight. The only one can use is LCD screen as torch light. I'm using Best Torch also.

Finally I have bought the legendary N82 Black to replace my 7-year-old Nokia 6510. No regret choosing it because I'm getting more and more excited as I learn more and more about this phone. I bought it on 16/7/09 and play with it/ reading symbian blog for 2 hours for almost every night. It's an AP phone @ RM1020 warranty by AsiaMobile. It's produced in Dec 2008 and came with v31 firmware. The seller told me there are no more new batch in 2009, I wonder whether this is true? Even though it has got a defective (bright) pixel, but I still feel it worths every penny I spent. Actually I can only see the dead pixel when I play with it in total darkness.

The past 2 weeks I was actually exploring more on its third party software and games. I only considered myself start to understand the jargon used in the forum/ blog tonight. Only now I understand what is a hacked N82, debranding, developer certificate, signing, unsigned, sis/sisx file, n-gage file, private folder etc.

I just successfully installed X-plore (trial version) and 2 n-gage games without hacking my N82. Even though some blog claimed that v31 is hackable but I dare not to try. SOOOooo Happy. Think I cannot sleep tonite.

Although N82 is probably overshadowed by all the latest Nseries and it is quite boring for you who have bought it more than a year. I'd like to make a suggestion because one of the best features of N82 is the ability to install new software/ game. Therefore, the function of the phone is almost endless. Why don't we discuss more on some good softwares and tips. Old N82 owner might fall in love with it again especially if you have not REALLY explore its full potential before.

I have so many software to try..... will update my findings on Garmin, Python for S60, Jbak Taskman/ Handy Taskman, Multiscanner, Flip Silent, Core Player etc. I anticipate that if N82 owners expand its functionality, this old model phone can still has a lot of 'cool factor'.

Hope novice enjoy my sharing and experts don't get bored.
