IMO = In My Opinion
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion If don't know, google and type (without double quotes) "define: IMO" or any other acronyms you want to try out. |

Again, it depends on what you want from your h/p:
1) Camera/Pictures more: N82 2) Music, MP3, video: 5800XM 3) Surf net using WiFi: 5800XM (bigger screen) 4) etc. Maybe you can list down what you want ? |

QUOTE(HyourinMaru @ May 25 2009, 01:21 PM) Among all Nokia phones, N82 is one with dual-processor (one for graphics), 300MHz+Some newer ones like 5800XM only has single-processor. If you think N82 is laggy, then all other Nokia phones will be laggy also. |

QUOTE(ltcbomd @ May 25 2009, 03:30 PM) I need a more durable phone since my working situation is quite bad... hot, hand always full of sweat and dirt... think i not suitable to use touch screen phone rite... Best solution is to skin wrap the entire phone. My N82 keypad is covered with shrink-wrap also |

QUOTE(christcwl9 @ May 25 2009, 03:55 PM) Hey guys, what type of cover u guys use for ur n82?? im using a crystal case for it but it seem to be cracked very fast...so how?? I used to change RM5 crystal case every 2 weeks. Too expensive. Now I use cellotape, cut in small 0.5cm x 1cm, and stick all over the crystal case joints. About 10 pcs overall. You should know where to stick if you change crystal case often enough. My current crystal case is about 2-3 months already. But only drop once on the hard-floor from about 1m. No crack. Still in use. Next time, I change crystal case, I take photo of my N82 for you all to see. >1 yr old. |

Unless you get those expensive martin something field protector, the normal skin wrap is not as transparent like crystal case, if viewed from certain angle. Also, if not fully skined or done properly, dust will enter and stick underneath the wrap as it has sticker material.
You cannot take out to clean. Need to replace entire wrap. |

Update: I've received the 1800mAh battery from AceCombat. Only put in today. Looks like full charge. Going to discharge today & tonight. Tomorrow morning->evening, plan to full charge 8-10 hours, then I'll see whether can last me until Mon. The original battery can last me until Sat night or Sun morning only.
I a bit suspect the battery is made in China and label as made in Japan. Not sure, just suspect only. - Packaging is made locally (M'sia). - The sticker wrap-around battery, doesn't look prim and proper as OEM Japanese products. - I think improper words/sentence/grammar printed on the packaging and battery. Anyway, that is beside the point. The point now is to test how long the battery can last now, and after 6-12 months. |

I just finish drain this morning. Now just start charging.
QUOTE(-Teddy- @ May 28 2009, 06:15 PM) I use m.facebook.com too for FB. For Twitter, I use Twittix. I use ShoZu to upload to Facebook and CC to Ovi. I think it is a bit on two different world. Twitter is more on text-messaging type. FB, Ovi, etc are more on binary pictures type. Perhaps someone may intro an app to merge it in mobile.I'm now looking for something that will integrate updates from both FB and Twitter, so that there is no need to open two separate apps. QUOTE(tun @ May 28 2009, 07:42 PM) Shozu is freeware. But you need to pay for the data used through GPRS/EDGE/3G or free if you use WiFi. Shozu is more for uploading pictures.If update status, I just use m.facebook.com QUOTE(christcwl9 @ May 28 2009, 09:09 PM) I ve been thinking of getting the new battery to replace my original N82 batter...but if i buy it, then my original batter will only be left inside the room until got dust wor...cuz i seldom change batter 1....so , do u think i should buy the new batter?? My batter only 1 month old...still very new... My opinion is, since 1 mth old, unless you really need the battery power, then upgrade it. Otherwise, use it as usual.Reason: - Nokia original battery is safer than 3rd party battery, although maybe from same OEM - Don't waste money - Unless the battery is critical to you, like you work sales or going to bring in money. Money that will pay for the battery. e.g. I buy a car not because I want comfort, because with a car, I can travel further and help my job, bring in higher income. QUOTE(AceCombat @ May 28 2009, 10:18 PM) Bro,this one i really no sure,cause i really very n00b in handphone thing one, but since the box and the label printed Made in Japan (maybe Japan technology and packaging and production somewhere else? ) so i just believe it that is made in japan Clue on local printing: (i) No Japanese word. (ii) Got Chinese word (iii) Printed with local Bukit Mertajam address at the back Normally, imported products will paste a white sticker with local language disti. It is most likely repackaged from volume order. QUOTE(christcwl9 @ May 28 2009, 10:51 PM) Then will i have to wait for some time?? like around few hours before the pics are uploaded in blogger??? Pictures are uploaded to Shozu, before routed to the intended destination like FB.Hey, does N82 got face detection ?? N82 no face detection lah. It is not a dedicated digital camera. QUOTE(chicaman @ May 29 2009, 01:30 AM) Now only first time full charging. Discharging yesterday. First full charge will see whether it can last me until Monday next week. Default 1050mAh can last me until Sat night or Sun afternoon only. Patience...QUOTE(tun @ May 29 2009, 06:39 AM) Hmm... I'm using maxis. I receive SMS from a local +6012 number with a 6-digit code, then enter into Shozu website (using PC) to confirm. |

(Green) Tip of the day: Unplug your charger!
![]() » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « From my understanding, once the device is full charged, it will cut-off and will not allow the charger to continue feed power to charge it. Unlike previous technology 10 years ago where you can keep charging. I believe once it is fully charged in 1.5 hours, it is the same if you leave it plug in for another 10 hours. No additional continuous charging will go in, until the device battery goes below the threshold and a normal-loop charging cycle begins again. |

QUOTE(-Teddy- @ May 29 2009, 02:35 PM) Mine takes longer, 1 hour 30-45 minutes. For us, switching off the main AC plug is enough. The message above is for US AC plug. They don't have the on/off switch.Does switching it off do the trick or it must be unplugged from the power source? Yes, it will cut off, but the charger itself consumes some energy itself: "It seems that when leaving the charger plugged in (not connected to the phone), it will still consume some energy" |

Ok, my report on my unit of 1800mAh. Fully charged on Fri morning (yesterday).
This morning - still full bar Afternoon 3pm - start to drop to 5-6 bars 8pm - 4 bar left Usage - similiar. Compare to my 1 year old original 1050mAh battery, I would say the performance so far is the same. Maybe need to discharge & charge several times for longer comparison. Result so far: Disappointed. |
