Have you guys noticed some of the sms were stored in the SIM memory?

I did a BILL enquiry from the Easy Access (I am using Maxis postpaid).
A sms replied from 1400.  This sms has a copy stored in the SIM memory automatically.

How do I disable this?
I don't mind having the sms stored in the phone memory or the card memory but not the SIM memory.
When the SIM memory get full, I cannot get new sms.

how to check whether there are something stored in SIM memory?

Finally I have bought the legendary N82 Black to replace my 7-year-old Nokia 6510. No regret choosing it because I'm getting more and more excited as I learn more and more about this phone. I bought it on 16/7/09 and play with it/ reading symbian blog for 2 hours for almost every night. It's an AP phone @ RM1020 warranty by AsiaMobile. It's produced in Dec 2008 and came with v31 firmware. The seller told me there are no more new batch in 2009, I wonder whether this is true? Even though it has got a defective (bright) pixel, but I still feel it worths every penny I spent. Actually I can only see the dead pixel when I play with it in total darkness.

The past 2 weeks I was actually exploring more on its third party software and games. I only considered myself start to understand the jargon used in the forum/ blog tonight. Only now I understand what is a hacked N82, debranding, developer certificate, signing, unsigned, sis/sisx file, n-gage file, private folder etc.

I just successfully installed X-plore (trial version) and 2 n-gage games without hacking my N82. Even though some blog claimed that v31 is hackable but I dare not to try. SOOOooo Happy. Think I cannot sleep tonite.

Although N82 is probably overshadowed by all the latest Nseries and it is quite boring for you who have bought it more than a year. I'd like to make a suggestion because one of the best features of N82 is the ability to install new software/ game. Therefore, the function of the phone is almost endless. Why don't we discuss more on some good softwares and tips. Old N82 owner might fall in love with it again especially if you have not REALLY explore its full potential before.

I have so many software to try..... will update my findings on Garmin, Python for S60, Jbak Taskman/ Handy Taskman, Multiscanner, Flip Silent, Core Player etc. I anticipate that if N82 owners expand its functionality, this old model phone can still has a lot of 'cool factor'.

Hope novice enjoy my sharing and experts don't get bored.

I need help here. Just install Mobipocket to read some ebook (pdb, prc, chm etc). Downloaded a pdb file --> bluetooth to N82 --> receive in Inbox --> but cannot open the file [Messaging: Feature not supported]

Then I start X-plore to find the pdb file in C: & E: but cannot find?
The full name of the file is Merck Manual 17e.pdb
I tried search Merck* and *.pdb in C: & E: but nothing found

How do I locate the file and save it to a folder I created in E:\eBooks

new n82 user here, need some help.

I bought a USB bluetooth dongle for my desktop PC to transfer file from and to my N82, while adding device, i accidentally select 'passkey' and key in abc123. Now even when my colleague BT something to me, they need my authentication.

Unfortunately, my colleague SE phone (non-smartphone) can only key in numbers (not letter), so I can't allow BT connection eventhough I have told them my passkey bcoz they can't key in abc.

How can I remove the passkey in N82?

But before I bought and set the dongle on my desktop PC. I can receive and send file to and from my colleague using SE phone. without asking any password.

I think some shops still have old stock (Manufactured in Dec 2008). I bought N82 2 months ago from a shop in SS2, PJ.
Now still playing with it. I have one question hope you guys have the solution.

When I bluetooth certain files like (Mylie song.lrc) to N82. The default application to open the lrc file is Notepad. Actually I want to save the file in E:\TTPOD\lyric but this file can't be found in both C & E drive (I use Xplore wildcard *.lrc to search).

So everytime I have to connect thru USB to manually save the file there. Is there anyway I can control the file I bluetooth to Inbox
(1) as to where I want to put the file
(2) as to which application I choose to open the file.

I found a tutorial already. http://profs.sci.univr.it/~posenato/home/en/node/49

Has any N82 users tried to install Python before. Which version is better?

the download link really confusing
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pys60/files/

Beside Python, it is necessary to install Phyton SDK and/or ScriptShell too?

I think it's a language that I have to install before i can run program written using this language (like java in phone, .net on windows). There are some cool applicatiosn/ games like pymp3editor can cut ringtone directly from n82, play games that use accelerometer etc.

i have small fingers, n82 keyboard to me is fine. This only problem is that the key is located at the lower bottom of the phone, if text for to long time, my wrist feels tired because the location of the keyboard makes it top heavy.

mobile88.com.my sometimes got price update. Last time saw AP was RM1000 (silver) - 1020 (black). Ori was RM 12++.

Actually I bought an AP N82 Black at RM1020 July 2009. I'm surprised that N82 price has not drop a single cent since then!

because you save your message/sms/ attachment/ bluetooth in C, which is 100+MB only. Try move the attachment/ bluetooth to E:

Want to ask a 'future question'. I have applied Developer Certificate and used it to 'sign' and install new application but the Cert is valid for 2 years only. Anyone experience before what will happen after 2 years? By the way, my N82 is unhacked.
