QUOTE(tanjinjack @ Sep 14 2009, 06:16 PM) Hello for all N82 users, Just got my N82 (inherited from my bro) and I find that there is a small issue regarding message in it. It's still under my experiment but there's what I believe to be true for now. It takes some time for me to send a message to one of my friend who is of different service provider. I use Hotlink, she uses Digi and the delivery report took a long time to change from 'Pending' to 'Delivered'. I tried with one other Digi number and the message is delivered together when the report turns 'Delivered', which is almost instantaneous after sending the message. I deduce that while it shows 'Pending', the message is not delivered because I don't receive any reply. The time it takes for 'Pending' to turn into 'Delivered' takes different time and some are instantaneous. I am thinking if I can do anything on my this phone, or should I just observe more? Congrats on owning a N82 in the first place. I wanna ask that could it be that Hotlink is having some low reception around area? Because if that is the case then that is why the message slow to deliver. For now i guess u observe first is the best method

It could also be the receiver's handphone has no coverage (signal).

Thanks for the congratulation. It's considered an upgrade from my old Sony P990i, another impressive phone though.
I don't think receptions might be the problem. As far as I am concerned, both side, are at places where signals are strong. Messages sent using the my P990i doesn't have such problem.
I just tried out one message, and it got delivered right after I sent it. Still haven't gotten a chance to ask her if it got delivered while the delivery report doesn't update. But I think delivery report usually doesn't delay that much, isn't it? The one I can recall is about 2-3 hours delay.

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Sep 14 2009, 02:40 PM) I'm using the generic WLM. The guideline is, if it supports N95/N95-8GB, it should be 100% compatible with N82. Except some specific apps like using LED as torchlight, keys that N82 doesn't have, etc. Well my problem is not the generic WLM but the specific Digi WLM. Reason is because Digi WLM, as I know, offer unlimited messaging for RM 3 per month. I'm not sure if a generic WLM can use such feature.

QUOTE(Tanakwagu_noh @ Sep 16 2009, 09:18 AM) any new firmware for n82? No. I don't think there will be any new firmware from Nokia for N82, unless something drastic that affect S60v3.

QUOTE(nghj @ Sep 17 2009, 11:23 AM) tats an idea for you. use the wired headset or get a good bluetooth headset I always use the wired headset for conference call. More clear and crisp, isolate outside noise and I can speak softer with the mic close to mouth. The other parties can hear me loud and clear. BT headset is not as good, as the mic is further away and always capture outside noise. i.e. not as good quality voice as compared to wired headset.
