bro how come your Wifi isn't working? the wifi is independent of carrier. I DO AGREE tho that with maxis your data tends to leak, compared to my previous experience with U Mobile. My wife is still so happy with her prepaid allocation of 300MB, she's not even used HALF!

hey what dyu think of U mobile compared to maxis? based on speed and coverage

U Mobile only works in Klang Valley and Penang.

Since my wife is purely based in KV i would say I'm very happy with the speed and coverage for the iPhone.

@Nokia: Thanx. Thats real generous of you. Unfortunately I'm working in Nilai so cant take you up on the offer. I might go with DIGI as they have a daily cap of RM5....much more manageable.

@lord_ashe: Am a sister. I wished i knew. If the phone connected over WIFI, I wouldn't be in this pickle in the first place. It just automatically phases into Edge/GPRS even though the WIFI is on. I can see the icon changing over when I open an internet application.

i'm only offering to help because you are a gal and nothing else! just trying to help nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

anyway as for your wifi issue, IMHO, it is either working or not.

hence i would recommend that you try it with another wireless router (preferably with a WPA security setting as opposed to WEP).

furthermore, i too, have some bad experiences with dlink routers; linksys all the way!

Oh no! My apologies for the gender mixup LOL.

Yes, as nokia said. Try it out with a different router, starbux or at a friend's house wink.gif

hey mate. if u really use aloooot of 3g, i suggest getting the mobile internet plans...rm58 for 500mb. if u dont use AT ALL, lol just call maxis to cancel ure 3g AND GPRS. must remember mention gprs. i dont think its maxis that causes the leakage of data, rather the iphone itself

Need advise from those on Celcom. When I asked them to remove 3G/Edge from my line 1) they said I need to change to 2G SIM card 2) When I went their service centre they said its not possible to change to 2G card anymore, all 3G card. If I really want to remove 3G I need to terminate the account and start a new one. Why can't they just turn it off via their system if Maxis can do it?.

Buy the iPhone 3gs without contract, purchase the mobile Internet RM88.00 / 3gb data usage. Then all your problem will solve.

I am currently using it, speed faster that using wifi. It's really work double speed than my preview blackberry download speed. Never regret for taking the mobile Internet package without contract!!!

Maxis Banzai !!!

after i switch to digi. Everything is not a problem for me. I can surf whenever i like. I can download whatever i like. Just only the disadvantage is the coverage not that good. But i'm fine with it.

Hi TeK_KeN, FakeAPN can work on your Celcom line?. It doesn't seem to work on my side, I can still access the internet and under the Usage still show values increase.

i'm thinking of switching my primary maxis line to the iphone.. which has the unlimited data package previously.. just worried if I would still be charged for data or it'll just be like business as usual ?
