guys, lol im damn worried about my iphone actually. 3 days in and the bill already naik and im not even on any plan

i just used sbsettings to disable 3G and EDGE. however, the 3G icon remains on my screen...
is that normal??

just wanted to add this here just incase!
lol even with SBsettings and the iphone settings, i notice GPRS is still active
what i did was i went to iphonenodata.com and installed a profile which messes up ure APN if im not mistaken... and i've tried it with safari and weather. 2.0kb sent. 0 received. if u wanna use back ure 3G, u gotta just uninstall the profile

if people already know this, lol sorry for the double info

lol yea mate the 3G is disabled now. but the GPRS is still running tho
for 3.1.2 i dont think theres APN settings
i think iphonenodata.com is good for those using 3.1.2

yeap. my iphone is from maxis. and there is no APN. lol i was googling and most of them mentioned APN, but im guessing for maxis sets there are no APN settings.

so guys with maxis sets and no plan lol, www.iphonenodata.com aight!

if u wanna use 3G, all u gotta do is go to settings>general> profile (new)
currently u wont have "profile", once u install iphonenodata.com then u will have one

lol yea for me it doesnt say no celular data. all it does is it tries to connect, but it doesnt manage to. so im assuming that no data is received...

lol i've tried another one called fake APN and it doesn't work as well. i guess all thats left is to call ure service provider to cancel 3G/EDGE/GPRS. i would have preferred not having to do that tho....its gonna be a hassle if i need to use 3G in case of emergency..

anyone know any apps in cydia?
SBsettings and Bossprefs only disable EDGE and 3G if im not mistaken...not GPRS

i called maxis earlier to cancel my GPRS 3G EDGE...the works
lol until today i still have everything..maxis rocks
i disabled 3G and EDGE and i still have sommee data going through...so far since i off everything...700kb passed already

hey mate. yea if u surf the internet when u are outside without wifi, u will get charged for it. but ivalue has some amount of data right?
u have 500mb of data in the plan itself, so only when u exceed 500mb u get charged. i dont know the rates btw. u can check how much u used by going to settings>general> usage.

also, anybody know if maxis has a data plan without buying the iphone?
im using the normal value 50 plan only. i disabled 3g edge and gprs by calling maxis, but i would prefer having the option of using it when i really need to.

wow. thats..really fast. i've gotten rm50 gone just for data before tho.

i suggest calling maxis. without any plan, which is what im using, they charge u 0.5 cent for every one KB. ...thats really expensive. i had my iphone for just around 1 week and i think the bill was rm30 just for data. they have some other plans for data as well, daily plans which last from 1 hour to 1 day ...which doesnt really help. and u have monthly plans from rm58 to rm99...really not worth it imo.

u can purchase a 500mb data plan for rm58 PLUS ure usual postpaid plan...provided ure using maxis..digi all i dunno lol
the iphone sends and receives data in the background itself...so even if u disable 3G, it'll use GPRS for it. i would think there are only 2 options really.
1. u sign up for the 500mb plan, u can surf around and not worry too much about data in the background
2. u call maxis, cancel 3G, EDGE, GPRS (it also disables MMS tho)

hey mate. if u really use aloooot of 3g, i suggest getting the mobile internet plans...rm58 for 500mb. if u dont use AT ALL, lol just call maxis to cancel ure 3g AND GPRS. must remember mention gprs. i dont think its maxis that causes the leakage of data, rather the iphone itself
