just called maxis because i got barred also, they say its their system problem causing iphone user data to shoot up and they are trying to rectify it, they unbarred it for me and assured that excess data fee will be waived, cheers guys

I have the same issues, previously i am on blackberry unlimited of RM120 per month, converted to iphone on 24th 9pm, got a message on 26th sept 9 am saying i have exceeded my 3GB allocations. WTF!!! 2 days usage already exceed how to continue to use? Most of the time i use wifi, only on are occasion i use their 3g networks. Checking on the usage in the i phone, download data is only 19mb, sent data is only 1.8 mb.

I've call customer service, they said based on the msg i received it should means u have exceeded and they can't see my details until the month end billing which is 28th. Frustrated i drove to Maxis KLCC, waited another hour in the queue and got the same answer. they say the new plan is prorated, which is fine. but based on my allocation, if i have 3GB , then it should be 3000mb/30days=100mb per day. So if i have activated on the 24th, i should have 5 days on the new plans, meaning at least 500mb. They said they will lock down the notes and ask me to call again when received statements on the overcharges....

Well i am continue to use my data plan, if they were to overcharge me, i am definitely going to complaint to consumer complaint ....................

same here, was suprised that I couldn't surf the net yesterday. Make a call to 123 and they told me that my line is barred. Then I asked them for the reason, they told me that my unbilled amount is RM 250+ and it gave me a shock.

I just transferred my line from prepaid to postpaid so I just use the line for 3 days and the bill is impossible for me to hit that amount with phone calls and I use WiFi most of the time too. They unbarred my line and told me the same reason as you guys.

You see guys if we make noise by everyone calling them and posting on forums and their Facebook page, they will GET it! Or else they will just buat tak tau...But what the CS said is half correct, right is their system is cacat but wrong that it causes iPhone data shoot up doh.gif

Whether you use iPhone 4, galaxy s, nokia, htc android or whatever the problem will still occur when u upgrade plan, just read some discussion at maxis Facebook discussion page. When they are crazy many ppl buying iPhone 4 these few days, it "sounded" like problem with iPhone which is totally absurd!

you guys normally leave the cellular data on or off ar?

my fren says better turn it off normally to prevent data usage at places u dunno but quite mafan =/

last nite when i check, my bill is RM6x.xx...so i get to maxis center and ask....they say becoz i din switch off the cellular data....so they help me turn it off....
BUT THIS MORNING WHEN I WAKE UP, MY CALLED AND CHECK MY BILL AGAIN....IT'S RM 235.70.... so should i turn it off or turn it on????

Im curious, if my cellular data and data roaming in on, when I am connected to the wifi, will it automatically use the wifi for data? Or do I have to switch the cellular data off?

It'll use the Wifi. No need to turn off cellular data. Tried and tested. Guaranteed

CS told me tat if ur wifi line is week, then it will auto use back cellular data.....so u better off it when u surfing....

hmm.. on 8th of sept im using the *100# to subscribe 500mb data plan.. the plan will auto renewed every mths.. on 21st i received my bill 260++.. darn!.. I called cs then they said my usage for that mths is pro rated.. im able to use only 216mb.. after exceed that amount Im been charged at normal rate.. WHAT THE HECK!!! i never knew this.. whenI subc I even called the cs.. and he never mentioned anything about this.. no wonder maxis profit not really on voice usage.. rclxub.gif

Don't wait bro.. Just complain to SKMM.. I already did. It unfair for user. They make a plan like that. But don't provide a way for a user to check their usage.. Even call to CS cannot get how much u use.

Same prob here. I change to ivalue 2 on saturday. My usage is around 25MB. Unbilled amount RM299.85. I called cs, they say it will take 5 days to look into the problem. I scolded him and he promised not to bar my line in this 5 days. He also said the amount will be waived in the next bill. Hmm....frustrating la to have this kind of problem. I want to enjoy my new phone. Not worrying about line barring and this ridiculous charges. sad.gif
