Same prob here. I change to ivalue 2 on saturday. My usage is around 25MB. Unbilled amount RM299.85. I called cs, they say it will take 5 days to look into the problem. I scolded him and he promised not to bar my line in this 5 days. He also said the amount will be waived in the next bill. Hmm....frustrating la to have this kind of problem. I want to enjoy my new phone. Not worrying about line barring and this ridiculous charges. sad.gif

Maxis already gave you their word that they'll wave the bill rite? then why it should stop you from enjoying the IPhone? and take comfort in the fact that you're not the only person with the billing issue. and Maxis for once are aware of the problem in their system and acknowledging the fact that there is and working to fix it.

Guys, one again please do ask your billing date. Remember 1st bill will be prorated, so does your allocation.. You will not get full 1Gb for 1st month.. unless ur billing date is exactly the day you register.

Thank you lets stress this out. this is the common misunderstanding that people have when they get their new IPhone that they're immediately entitled for the full data allocation. and when the usage shoots up during the first month. They'll blame the Telco's for overcharging when they didnt bother to read up the fine prints or ask the Customer Service further on the billing charges.

It's always easy to put the blame on someone else when you're at fault for not being arsed to read and find the info for yourself

I had issues with the waiver before. It took them 4 months to waive my RM200++ bill. I've been using Maxis for 11 years. So the trust is fading out......heheh.

Not sure if you guys know or not, but i see in oversea forum that iphone 4 connect to the internet even if turn the roaming or cellular data off. It especially happen in the early morning. It say it maybe due to problem with the iOS.

For those who have their iphone, could try this exp and report back here.

Reset your iphone data usage to zero b4 going to bed. When wake up the next morning, check the date usage if it goes up.
You also can cehk with cs what is your data usage or total bill today and the next day check with them again, if there any excessive data charge.

I think about to get ip4 but had to hold back due to this problem (more serious than the antennagate issue as there have reported bill more than USD1000 as it get high especially if the user goes overseas and incur mobile international roaming).

Im curious, if my cellular data and data roaming in on, when I am connected to the wifi, will it automatically use the wifi for data? Or do I have to switch the cellular data off?
*
Yes, iPhone will ALWAYS use wifi over 3G if it's available regardless of whether your cellular data is on or off.
If you have a data plan, you don't have to worry much about turning cellular on or off. I am a heavy Internet user browsing webpage but I don't watch videos, I leave cellular data on all the time because 500mb just about right each month, the new 1gb even better I don't need to border with any of this tracking anymore especially with MAXIS reminder SMS when you 100mb away from limit.

So they only time you need to care about turning cellular data on or off are:

1. You don't have data plan, meaning paying RM0.10/10KB.
2. You are oversea avoiding roaming charges.
3. You know you are almost reaching your limit

Hope this helps

I called CS just now. Maxis barred my account this morning. Told the CS about the problem, then she did the checking, after that she apologised and told me that the problem will be brought forward to billing dept. She un-barred my account, and now I can use my phone line..

In Maxis website go to Customer Service. If you don't have a username, you can register for one.

Is there unlimited data plan for maxis?
Unlimited internet usage but pay a one time fee at the end of the month?

my billing date is 14th, i registered my ivalue plan at 24th, from 14th - 24th is 10 days which is around 33%, so does this means that after prorated, my data usage now is 1GB x 66% around 660MB for me to use till next month 14th?

I'm sure those who even work at Maxis wouldnt know how to compute Data Pro-ration.Whats specified here is just based on pure calculation. So no ones the exact byte to byte usage calculation, all based on rough calculation.

To calculate:

A day data for 1GB plan = 1000MB/30 days = 33MB
24th to next month 14th = 20 days
Total prorated data you can use until next bill = 33MB x 20 = 667MB

*note: all smartphone (iPhone, Symbian, Android, BB) counter will not be accurate because all telcos charge RM0.10/10KB block not 1KB block, so allow plus/minus 50MB

i did pay.... but i do complaint at maxis CS, and she said that i will be unbarred until i received my bills...

3 days of usage.. less an hour call, not more than 30 sms, less than 10mb data and i got charge for rm260....
