DHL (at my place) is not friendly.

I sent a document (envelope) frm Penang to KL and DHL charged me 28RM.

Poslaju only charges 4.95RM
GDex only charges 5.50RM

I suggest you to try Fedex

At that time, I thought only Fedex, UPS, DHL and Poslaju were available in Malaysia. As I was late, about 5.45pm, post office sudah tutup but I had to make sure the document reached the next day. So, I went to DHL and I was shocked when I was told the price. Expensive no problem, but the receptionist was lan si. Shit ...

blush.gif blush.gif though quite out dated , but , according to my experience (sending doc to NY monthly)... FedEx is superbly reliable... the price is reasonable too....... +-RM 62 for 500g doc. i do agree with "onemilimeter", DHL operator is very lan si... i called up the branch at 3am, (they open 24 hours mah.....), the operator sounds so impatient and show no customer service etiquette....oops.. DHL is pricey too... shocking.gif +- RM 80 for same destination.

Wang Pos - you need to buy the coupon at Pejabat Pos. Then, you send the coupon to the receiver, who will bring the coupon to Pejabat Pos to exchange for cash.

Pos Laju - you need to fill a borang then pass your parcel/document to the counter. Of course you need to pay at the counter too.

NEVER, NEVER use POS EKSPRES, had bad experiences with them slightly cheaper than PosLaju but not worth it. They can track the article but that's all. They dont care if Postmen dont deliver...no acknowlegement needed.

Probably you may drop by any courier service center that near to your house. I believe they can provide you better suggestion or advice. I never send a doll to a girl before. smile.gif

The web based online tracking services of some courier companies do not work. For example, the online tracking service of GDex tak boleh guna wan.

I suggest you don t use dhl!! Very expensive!! Use Nationwide!! It is very cheap using it from my town!! i think around RM 8 per kg only!! If you use company account, even cheaper!! Check it from your town?? Different town different rate!!

And it take one day!! For sure!!

FXP service centre sent a NationWide courier to pick my printer. However, they did not provide any receipt when they collected the printer. They suggested to fax the receipt to me. As I don't have fax machine, I went to NationWide branch to collect the receipt myself.

You can use DHL and liase with the Cust Service people to have your friends pickup at their agent office in Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Labuan or KK.

yes its needed for all international shipments of parcels.

this is to declare what goods are being shipped & its estimated cost. its a safety measure for them (courier company & customs), basically if you state youre shipping a television but the box is 10 x 10 x 10cm and when it goes through the x-ray it doesnt look like a TV, this document will be used to proof that the sender is lying about the item being shipped.

it also makes their job a little easier lah, just declaration form, x-ray to see if its what it is, etc.

as a sender, this document is usefull if the parcel is lost while its on the way to its location. you make a claim and this document is a proof of what to claim for and how much its worth.

documents do not need goods declaration form, only parcels. afaik its a strict rule for courier company to not ship any goods internationally if theres no goods declaration form.

hello to all

I think our local courier service provider offers rougly competitive price plan. Over 15 courier service or more (plus minus the small service provider). Price shouldn't be the first choice to look at, if you were looking for a courier service, but the service (reliable or not).

My recommendation is to call them up and ask. Alternatively, you can try e-mail.

Sony: It appears so if you're an account customer. Bear in mind if you order a lot of packaging but never use it they might ask why/ask you to give it back...

rina: I think refridgerated services are quite hard to find. My recommendation you ask at a university bioscience or medical division how they send their bio supplies.

They won't come to ur house to take the bike, u have to go there and photostat ur bike documentation. Don't let ur petrol full.

Is better you call to ask this is only thing that I know.

you guys sure post a lot of questions when most of it can be answered by simply visit the respective courier's website~

scared of items hilang/rosak, have it insured. but best of all, safely packed the item yourself.

ABX Express in the news: http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...95&sec=business

QUOTE
Sensing that the Sabah-based courier company ABX Express, which had been operating since 1984, had potential to grow, Ali bought into the company with an investment of RM10,000. His gut feeling was proven right, and ABX Express expanded to become a business worth over RM300,000.

Corrections to the article:
1) Ali bought into the company with an investment of RM300,000
2) ABX Express is now a business worth over RM30 million
3) I know 1) and 2) because Ali is my good friend.
4) Ali is t3h r0x0r.

nerd- The cheapest service would probably be PosLaju. Will probably be 2-4 days Alternatively, if you don't need a speedy service, it will probably be even cheaper if you use registered (Pos Daftar) airmail, will probably take about a week.

However bear in mind that it may be illegal or at the very least against the terms of subscription with you telco (Telstra or whatever) and/or ISP to connect an ADSL router from overseas (which will be uncertified). Also bear in mind that it is possible that connecting such an uncertified device may result in problems with your insurance if your house burns down even if the device is not the cause of the fire.

Also you might want to look into tax issues. I'm pretty sure Aussie has not import tax on computer items but GST will apply. Therefore it will be up to the customs official whether to charge you GST, they may have a policy normally applied to such situations which you may be able to find out from their website.

For example, in NZ the policy is that customs duties (including GST) will not be charged if the total amount owing is under $50 for an item imported for personal use which means you can import an item of $400 or less if only GST is to be charged (GST is 12.5% here). Generally this amount will include postage/shipping costs. However bear in mind that such policies are probably not legally binding by which I mean the customs officials could probably still charge whatever the amount owing and you will have no legal recourse other then to pay it. This is probably unlikely but you might want to check and find out. A good place to ask may be OCAU (overclockers.com.au) since there are frequently people who buy stuff from the US etc.

Of course, your friend could under declare the item but bear in mind that such a thing would definitely be illegal and in general the customs officials reserve the right to indepedently determine the cost of an item. Also, obviously if you under declare an item, any insurance will only be applied to the under declared value.

Personally, I suspect customs duties will not be a problem unless your planning to buy a very expensive wifi ADSL router but I would avoid using anything imported which connects to the phoneline except as a backup device. The potential headaches and problems you may get from various people and companies for using a uncertified device is too much of a hassle to be worth it IMHO.

Nil Einne thanks for giving such a comprehensive reply. My telco is TPG and I'm given a choice of whether to purchase the ADSL router from TPG or use my own equipment. It did not state any verification issues as long as the router I supplied myself meets certain specifications. So I think getting a router from Malaysia wouldn't be a problem. As for the tax issue, do you mean the customs will impose tax on the router even though it's wrapped and declared as another item? Do the customs check what is in the package?

HI,
Anybody can tell me the Pos Berdaftar's Fees?

According to the POS.com.my
Using normal envelope -> RM 1.70 for 20gm or below. If more than 20gm, we need to put sufficient postage stamp. (If it's 100gm, then how much stamp fees would it cost?)

TQ in advance for the answer.

cheers

Anyone tried calling FEDEX, the customer service is very competent in solving the problems and tracking the shipping, where as DHL is quite arrogant in handling all the questions.

Guys now there is another courier service in town called TRANS EXPRESS courier which is a subsidiary of Nadi Corp Holdings, which is also own the Transnasional bus express. My company where i work right now is using their service so far ok no problem, most of my doc/parcel will reach destination the next day. u can sent it to whole Malaysia their price is ok la, not so cheap like pos laju but service is there la. 1kg they charged at rm12.00 any additional 1kg they will charged u another rm2.00 but this only for penisular, sabah sarawak will be different rate. but like my company have an acc. with them so we get cheaper la. but i think this rate still cheap compare to GDex and other courier. what i know is that they are using buses to sent doc/parcel for destination in penisular Malaysia, they even provide insurans as an optional which i think no other courier company can offer. u can also walk-in at their counter located at keramat or they have their authorised agent at wangsa maju.

I think Kangaroo Worldwide Express cheaper than Poslaju. I had an experience where the same box of mobo sent to me in Kuala Terengganu from PJ. The sender paid Postlaju RM16.80. Then I send back to him the same box of thing by Kangaroo. RM5 only. But took 1 extra day to reach than Poslaju. But compare RM16.80 to RM5.. laugh.gif Citylink Express also got a pakage for 1-20KG stuff at flat rate of RM35. But this pakage won't include insurance.

Haih...i got really bad experience with City-Link... shakehead.gif

today is the 8th day since the item was posted from muar to kl using citylink...already called them alot times but all same answer "your address is incomplete, give again the address please.." and "your item will arrive today before night"...i have no problem about my address with postlaju, nationwide and even un-famous G-Dex! Its not the address fault, its the courier man fault. He can ask around if he cant find my house...my house is not located in remote place but in KL! Tried complaint using email with hope the boss will push his ppl to send in a same day(like what i did to nationwide) but cant find the link on the website for malaysia branch's email feedback... mad.gif

For me, i will never use their service anymore... its not 2-3 days delay but a week and still haven't arrive... doh.gif

Use Poslaju is better compare to those private courier service. Custom check tightly and some times will tax for big/heavy parcel.

i wouldn't recommend citilink.. although it's a bit cheaper but the service is very poor. the person attending the calls sounds very grumpy. sometime you will even feel that she scolding. if this were to continue, i think they will not survive in this service industry.

I went to Pos M'sia and calculate for u, Poslaju = RM 438.90. shocking.gif But it's 30KG! I also want to send something overseas last time, and I tried all famous couriers I know, Fedex, DHL, NationWide Express, TNT, UPS, but they are very expensive. I think for ur 30KG, NationWide will charge you around 700+. So the cheapest courier should be PosLaju. biggrin.gif If you can find cheaper ones, pls let me know! smile.gif

BTW, what are u sending? 30KG!

hello all..i dont want to be rude but CAN YOU HELP ME? smile.gif im selling something in ebay malaysia...since the first time im joining ebay ive never dealt with someone outside malaysia...this is the first time...just want to ask a few question that i need you to answer...thanx for all your help smile.gif

1. what is the safest shipping courier?i prefer the safest courier eventhough it is a little bit expensive as i want the item safely sent to my buyer...she is from austria or nigeria i think...dont remember tongue.gif

2. what bank in malaysia that accept money from bank worldwide?maybank?bank islam?affin bank?i mention this bank as i am their customer tongue.gif i have paypal account but it is not verified...so have to use this method to receive money...other than that she can sent me her money by mail but that is quite risky...so i think transferring money from bank to bank is the most safest but im not sure which bank.

i hope this is the place to post my questions...thanx for all the help...you all are the best! notworthy.gif

You ask for safest courier? I think those more expensive ones would be. Those like DHL, UPS, TNT, Fedex. You should make sure what your customer's country is so that you can estimate the shipping charges. biggrin.gif

Worldwide bank? I don't think so...Maybe you should ask your customer/ check whether those countries have our local banks...but I don't think they'll have. But of course, some of them like SG, HK have some of their branches with us. The easiest payment is with Paypal, verify your paypal or maybe ask ur customer to transfer the funds to your friends/ trusted paypal seller here and after that, ask them to send the $$ to ur bank account.

Hope this helps. icon_rolleyes.gif

but enyo...my friends in other forum says that u cant receive payment via paypal...and other thing...im a student...i think i cant afford a credit card to verify my paypal smile.gif
and im really agree with u that there is no bank in malaysia that can receive payment from worldwide bank as i studied banking but there is one forumer say that you can...is it something new?so is there any option for her to send the money?is it via money order?can we receive money order or hard cash from other people globally?but then that put the risk to her la right as it will be steal...kan?as for the courier help..thanx! smile.gif will try contact them...just want my item safely arrive smile.gif thanx for your opinion enyo smile.gif

As for the PayPal thingy, I think you can ask those who sells 'PayPal USD' to transfer for you. Go Garage Sales and I think there'll be a few members selling USD through PayPal. tongue.gif

-edited- Oops, sorry, I've got you wrong. You wanted to receive $ from outside, not pay to outside. That I don't know...try to ask some professional sellers. biggrin.gif

GDex... I don't know others but their location is simply good enough for me to personally bring the parcel to them.

I've used their services twice and it never disappoints me. I've sent twice; once mooncake and another time is shoebox size parcel by GDex from KL to Bentong. No damage. All secured. Acceptable rates too. RM13 for normal and RM16 for overnight insurance; they lock your item in vault prior delivery tomorrow. But during the sending, it'll be just the same.

Add another RM1.50, they come to your place to pickup the item, weight it and deliver tomorrow.

As you are shipping from China, so I use DHL China. biggrin.gif You can email them or calculate them yourself.

Calculate the volumetric weight of your shipment
DHL China (EN)

You can calculate there. Or better, email them and have them calculate for you. biggrin.gif But if you want to mail them you can mail them at DHL Malaysia. They even called me the last time I mailed them. smile.gif

More than 100kg? Quite a lot...they might charge you tax.

Courier would be expensive too. As I've mentioned, the cheapest courier would be local ones. You can ask your seller/supplier to use China's courier, which I think would be cheaper than some expensive/famous couriers like DHL, Fedex, etc. biggrin.gif

I get to know one more courier service company name OCS (Tel : 03 - 4043 8379). Dunno much bout this company. Only heard of it before.

From what I know China people prefer to use TNT because the charges for them is much cheaper. I know bout this because my company's suppliers do use TNT to send documents to use. From the airway bill we know that the charges is quite cheap compare others.

As for Singapore, normally will use DHL or FEDEX. But if you feel that it's quite expensive, maybe can try to check out the price for POSLAJU reverse pick up from Malaysia. Then POSLAJU will charge you in RM.

You used normal mail? Registered mail? I don't know, it might take some time, depends on your location. I would suggest you to use Pos Laju, will arrive fast and you can track it.

my father tried NationWide, Skynet, Citylink
but all these three provide bad service,
always delivery delay, parcel lost..
parcel lost is the most troublesome, i c no efford they willing to make satisfactory payment or reparation to us.. they claimed tht any lost of parcel, RM200 will be the maximum pay, regardless how expensive the content in our parcel. T_T

Wa...send m&m and from ampang to ampang? You're very rich? tongue.gif It depends on it's weight, you're sending a box or just few packets? If it's light, PosLaju should be less than RM5.

my father tried NationWide, Skynet, Citylink
but all these three provide bad service,
always delivery delay, parcel lost..
parcel lost is the most troublesome, i c no efford they willing to make satisfactory payment or reparation to us.. they claimed tht any lost of parcel, RM200 will be the maximum pay, regardless how expensive the content in our parcel. T_T

A few years back, i got the scholarship from petronas and petronas send me the official contract to fill up. This contract is like other formal contract which u have to go to court to certified. And i must send back it to petronas within 15days to show tht i accept the offer. You know wht? I sent it using Nationwide and they lost it! I am fuking pissed off! And aft 15days, they said they search through the whole garage but could locate it. So tht means the date is expired already for me! My future is gone due to this stupid courier service! They keep saying sorry and said this is 1 in a million case in which the parcel is lost in the garage! Omg, wht is the use of apologising? Sorry will not get the thing fixed! Btw, luckily the manager is very good, he helped me to call the petronas education sponsorship unit (ESU) to clear things out and luckily also petronas ESU agree to send me a new contract and give me a few more days to do it. But i still have to do those troublesome things again. Sigh. Speaking of my personal experience. Just an advice for u guys, next time if u have very important documents to send out, plz send it by urself, dun ship it using these courier companies. Guess u should trust urself more than these companies. smile.gif

Just out of curiosity, regarding DHL, I guess their operation service is competent, isn't it? No idea about the customer service. Anyone with bad experience from the DHL's customer service?

Any suggestion to send bank draft from KL to Melb, preferably cheap rate?

Thx

Back from office and notice that received some stuff I order online via Skynet EMS.

According to my mom (which is at home during the parcel arrive) their staff just simply throw the parcel into my house. Then when my mom ask why they do that, reason, "I though that no one at home". Then the staff apologize. But still, as a customer point of view. They shouldn't do that to any parcel. shakehead.gif

Pos Laju rates go up by 10%

By M. KRISHNAMOORTHY

PETALING JAYA: Sending letters or parcels by Pos Laju now costs 10% more.

The increase, effective March 1 and attributed to rising fuel costs, is on top of the current 5% surcharge.

Pos Laju's chief operating officer Firdaus Azharuddin said most of the courier companies in Malaysia had increased their charges last year.

"We could not introduce it last year because we experienced some technical difficulties, so we absorbed the increase in fuel cost. The cost of aviation fuel has gone up and we are forced to increase the cost," he added.

Fomca chief executive T. Indrani said the 10% increase was not justified.

"It is shocking to find out about the increase when there has been no recent increase in the pump prices of petrol or diesel fuel.

"Even the cost of aviation fuel has declined recently, so I cannot understand why Pos Laju wants to increase its rates."

A check by The Star showed that the increase in rates came with a promise of better service.

A message to customers from Pos Malaysia was headlined, "Quality service is important to us because it is important to you."

"A 10% increase on domestic shipping charges will allow us to

be better equipped in providing you with improved delivery services."

ABX is pretty okay. u dun need to bring your stuffs to their office and all. juz giv them a call... giv them a description & weight of your parcel and request for them to pick it from your house. save cost & trouble 2 get 2 their office/ queue etc... and they are cheap, compare to FedEx and all...

Well, it depends on your luck, sometimes they check and sometimes don't. They might request you to pay tax(they will send something to you and ask you to collect it at somewhere which I'm not sure) but I'm sure that they will not confiscate it, unless it's something illegal.

Fedex is good. I sent my document on Wednesday to US and was estimated to be arrived on Friday EST time but today is not arrived yet.

I emailed to them and asking for compensation as what I heard that they have this policy if it is delayed, then they will compensate on the courier fee.

Is that true?

He sent to me with fedex on friday.
By tracking system,it says reach on monday. Our local time or UK time?
Do i need to pay any custom duty or import duty?
If so, whats the procedures?
Or izit illegal to buy from oversea?
Thanks!!

I don't know what time they follow, you should confirm with Fedex. It isn't ilegal to buy Ipod from overseas, I suppose. However, they might charge you duties which could be expensive.

no, it is not illegal. the only thing problem is taxing, if the custom wanted to tax, just pay the tax then.

and the arrival will be as local time, means malaysia time.

pack properly, wrap the box with waterproof material, write the address big, clear and waterproof. write the address on few sides of the box etc etc.

cheap and reliable, but slow. postlaju malaysia. 15kg for RM90, by sea, took about 3 months.

that is the cheapest, if you want fedex, it took 3/4 days to arrive by air, but it gonna cost you rm60 just for a not even 1kg parcel. so figure out yourself how much is it for 25kg parcel.

EMS usually delivers faster than Airmail Parcel, that's why charge more expensive, I dont overspend it, just use the Airmail will do, cheaper yet you need to wait roughly 1 week time smile.gif

Brothers,

I have some documents coming from Japan by EMS, they've sent it last Friday, but until today I haven't receive anything, is that normal?
I need the documents to apply for VISA to Japan this week, so it's quite in a hurry.
Where can I check if the documents has arrived yet, or what?

This is what I get when tracing from their website.

Hi Bro, Cool down, EMS from Japan might take roughly 4-6 days, inc custom clearance and departure, therefore pick up from local post (post malaysia). The package arrives in KL, that's because it's in terminal & transit centre to check whether it's duty or duty free item. I suggest you call up pos laju 1300-300-300 then provide your tracking no to check with them. Cheers! smile.gif

Thank you very much for the reply!
I've just called them and he say I'll be receiving it by today.
But I forgot to ask.. How am I going to collect it? Will they send to my house? Or I have to head to their office to collect it?
The address I gave to the Japanese is my home address anyway.

Try to use Citylink Express. It is very fast & reliable. Currently i'm using it to send goods for my gf at labuan. Picked up at 1PM, reach there 12PM another day. Less than 24 hours,23 hours to be exact. For the charges, they just raised the charges for the domestic fuel-surcharges. But it is still cheap, compare to FedEx or TNT or DHL.

+ Online tracking if you have the consignment note number.

I wanna know was the item safe? and how much did it cost?
shipping time issnt really an issue to me.
I rather have it safe, and wait a week longer

Any information will be greatly apprieciated

Sry guys, this is off the current discussion, but this is fairly urgent. ( apologise for doing this in 2 topics XP)

I am currently residing in Melbourne, Australia

i am wanting to move my logitech z5500 back to malaysia when my course ends
I am wondering if any one has this same issue where they had to ship 27kg's from australia to malaysia.

I wanna know was the item safe? and how much did it cost?
shipping time issnt really an issue to me.
I rather have it safe, and wait a week longer

Any information will be greatly apprieciated
*
It's not worth it if you just send that 1 item 27kgs alone. And also you will need special plug adapter for it.

Suggest get a box service and ship everything in one go it will be cheaper. You can consider sharing a box with your friend. Any additional Boxes will be charged a fee but you only pay 1 time for the basic charges.

Press Releases: April 27, 1999

FedEx offers new services in Johor Bahru
New services provide customers greater access and faster links to FedEx network

JOHOR BAHRU, April 27, 1999 - Federal Express Corp., the world's largest express transportation company, today announced the launch of new services in Johor Bahru, through its agent. This new service is in response to increased demand for inbound and outbound air express services in the rapidly-expanding industrial state.

The new service offers FedEx immediate access to customers in Johor Bahru where FedEx has experienced significant growth in demand for services. This growth can be attributed to the increase in the small and medium-sized business sector, which has led to strong demand for time-definite air express services, both in and out of the region.

In Johor Bahru, FedEx operates through an agent, FIP Packaging (Far East) Sdn. Bhd., which is a well-established company with a good network within Johor Bahru. With in-depth knowledge and experience of the local market, the company has strong domestic pick-up and delivery, and has the capability to serve FedEx's customers in Kulai, Kawasan Dato' Onn, Kawasan Taman Johor, Pasir Gudang, Permai Jaya Saleng, Senai, Skudai, Tampoi, Kelapa Sawit, and Sri Pulai.

I heard a lot say DHL and Skynet sux. Hmm, so far I use Pos Laju, so far so good. But only things I dun like is they simply charge on the price.

I send a box of modem to KL, they charge me RM 8. Few days later, I send the same size box of modem to KL at same pos office, but different person at counter. He charge me RM12. WTF!! shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

It happens couple of time ad. The rate not fixed? Can some1 conclude which service is cheaper and better?

better use pos daftar.

ZONE E

Tariff for weight = 100 grams

Min. Weight (grams) Max. Weight (grams) Rates (RM)
Above 90 grams To 100 grams RM 7.40

total only RM7.40 stamp + 3.90 register mail = RM11.30 only

normally it take about 8 - 9 business days to arrive.

and you can track it on link below when it arrive US.
http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfi...trackandconfirm

it's cheap and just need to wait for another 4 - 5 days for it to arrive if compare with DHL or Fedex.

-Hmm, my (personal) opinion on Skynet: the service is bad and unreliable.

1. Late delivery (2 times already).
2. Bad customer service (put on hold for some minutes with the loud voice of staff chatting can be heard in the background).
3. Promised to call back but at last I have to call them...

-BTW, the branch in question is Sungai Petani and Bukit Mertajam ones.

Hi all,

-Just want to ask, isn't Skynet common delivery service is "Next-Day Delivery"? If yes, why they said cannot send today because the item just reached them (the destination office) only this morning? The item was sent yesterday, 1st December 2008.

-FYI, I called the destination office why the item haven't arrived (even though the website said it's already out for delivery), the lady who answered my call said this is because the item just arrived to them at 8.30am...

-So, at what time it's supposed to reach them to make it could be shipped to me the day after delivery? As far as I know, all couriers will ship the items at night, and it will reach tomorrow morning, right?

-Below is the tracking details:
Attached Image

-This is at least the 3rd (third) times I experienced serious delays by Skynet if I remembered correctly, but I believe its more than this...

Regards.

Regards.

the only problem i have with skynet so far is that their courier guy don't know my exact location. always phone me where is my house. 2 times already. their delivery is so fast, most of the time "Next-Day-Delivery" if your address is easy for them to find. Are they not doing any improvement about this address issue? I'm very dissapointed about this matter. Beacuse of this, i received parcel one day late but the item already arrived at my hometown skynet office.

-Hmm, they know my address, just that they didn't deliver on the day they should. Excuse? The item arrive to them only in the morning (~8am)... I think their delivery person isn't going out at that time yet.

-Anyway, I already received the item in question today - I asked them to deliver it to my workplace since nobody's at home. That's one good point that I could see, I'm grateful for that.

You can post 20kg stuff to UK using Pos Malaysia at RM120 (approximately). But it might take 2~3 months to reach.
You may consider FedEx, but it cost you around RM600 for the service (25kg).

REally sick of this skynet service. Always sent the shipment late for one day. Still remember the 1st time other ppl used skynet to courier something to me. I checked online 1st n read that my shipment was out for delivery in the morning. Since i needed to go out to run some errands, I called n asked whether i can come over to pick up at their KL office which is less than 5 mins drive fr my house, but they said it was already out for delivery n it was actually sent to cheras centre not KL centre. So, I asked them to check what time usually the thing will reach my hand and what i got was: "most probably by lunch time". So, i waited till 2pm n got impatient n called again. Then the operator said by 3pm. Ok, I waited again till 4pm n called again. This time, the staff there called up the delivery "pakcik" n asked him. The staff said the "pakcik" will send around 7-7.30pm. I waited till 8.30pm, still no one came to my door step. Damn frustrated vmad.gif vmad.gif , stayed whole day at home doing nothing but waiting for the stupid company to send me my shipment... And that stupid company even has an delivery centre on the same "straight" road to my house which is less than 2km away, but instead of sending my shipment to that centre, they sent it thru another centre which is far far away from my place...

yes, Skynet common delivery is "Next-Day Delivery" if under normal area for them. It will be 2 days delivery if it is not in their common area.
ur item was send out on 1-12-08 and reach Bukit Mertajam Branch on 2-12-08 (8.12am). ur item should reach end destination before 2pm on same day 2-12-08. it maybe a delay if they couldn't arrange for ur item to be sent out from the branch since their rider must set out at 8.30am. so item will reach end destination the next day.

after having trouble from them few times, i've known the way they work around. if things r not urgent i don't mind reach 2 days later. but for urgent one, i always wrote a letter and fax to my pick-up branch. they will inform the matter to HQ. so far so good, my urgent one reach destination before 2pm.

Guys, a quick question ( hopefully )

If i were to use DHL to send items from hometown ( Malaysia ) to UK, how do i actually check the fees that i need to pay them? and is there any extra charges on mailling fragile items? also what kinda mailing system do i use to send heavy but fragile items, and to be delivered ASAP?

i did went on the website and i confused myself half way reading it. And i cannot actually be there (DHL Malaysian Branch) physically since im in UK now. And my town does not have any DHL branches either.

if there is someone that can point me to the correct direction that would be great. Cheers

Only Skynet? Then how are you going to compare which give the lowest courier charges??
Nationwide Express has Easicourier counter available at selected Petronas Service Station, where for certain destination the price is actually cheaper than Skynet. You may want to give it a call. http://www.nationwide.com.my/c-branches.php

I'm not sure how you all deal with Courier Service but this is usually what I do even thou sometimes the Courier Service Provider i use is a bit expensive compare to other....
1. Locate all the Courier Service Provider nearby.
2. Set the final destination on where the stuff are going.
3. Check if there are any branch at the final destination. (If no branch available there, it will be more expensive.)
4. Call up Customer Service of the Courier Service Provider for the price (to compare...ask on fuel & tax charge too).
5. Remark it for future reference.

After make decision which one to choose...
1. Call up for pick-up or bring to the Courier Service Provider Branch nearby. Also ask when the stuff can reach final destination.
2. Keep the Courier Note or Slip or AWB or what ever they call it to keep track of the stuff.
3. If it is a next day delivery, after 1pm the stuff still not reach, call up and ask when can reach (juz to make sure the stuff didn't go MIA).

i was juz wondering whether there is a courier company by the name of ADAX COURIER in malaysia? i got a call from someone named Jerry Brain(i know what a funny name - if it is his real name), telling me that a fren of mine in London sent a package containing valuable stuffs and pound currency.
Since there is currency inside the package (wic my fren did not declared) and according to this brain dude its againt the shipping policy, the parcel is bein held by malaysian customs.

In order to get it released, i have to pay admin cost n charges amount to 3k. I checked on the available sites, there is no such company in sabah and the thing is he called me using mobile number wic i find it a bit odd. so here's the ADEX COURIER address n phone number and if anyone knows anything lemme know ya. Im going back to Kelantan for good, but my stuff in KL. If I bring back with my car, it may takes 3-4 trips. So which courier service you guys suggest me to use? Its around 5-8boxes. I want cheapest and most reliable I dont mind if it takes 3-4days or even a week to arrive at the location. And do they provide the boxes? Or I need to get my own box?

I believe transport lorry will be cheapest if your 5-8 boxes are large one. There are few transport lorry that rent spacing instead of whole lorry.
Their price calculate according to dimension and weight.

you can try transportations companies, eg. Lorries. How much did the courier company quote you? Its probably RM600 if you get a personal lorry to send it all down for you. Much cheaper if you get those big transportation companies. Contact me via msn if u want the lorry drivers' details.

Hi guys,

I could use some advise. I am planning to send some stuff to friends and family over in The Netherlands. As some items will be more expensive as others; I need certainty it will arrive save and sound. I know I could use DHL or Fedex, but this is far too expensive (compared to the value of the items).

Most of the items are quite small, and fit in the document enveloppes. Does this perhaps mean I can also send this 'as a document' instead of a parcel? I mean; if I would send my kid brother a t-shirt, it fits snugly in a fitted enveloppe.

Besides; I cannot seem to find any information about registered items. Will my friends/relatives need to sign for receiving the items (I know this will get me some extra certainty that it arrives safely).

Last time I simply went to POS at Sungei Wang 3rd floor. I send of a package for around RM48, but I stashed around 2.2 kilo's in it. At that time I was here on holiday; and wanted to send some items and gifts to my own place. That package arrived almost 7 weeks later at my doorstep; totally busted with holes in the box. This didn't give me a good feeling about the 'cheaper' solutions.

It is important that it arrives safely.....that it arrives alltogether.

Should I stick with POS or POS Laju?

Cheers
