A LOT OF GOOD FEEDBACK FROM UNITY DESIGN. I AM NEW IN THIS FORUM. JUST READ THROUGH AND IMPRESS BY THE DESIGN. JUST WONDER IS IT TRUE THAT THEIR SERVICE AND WORKMANSHIP IS GOOD. AS I WAS TOLD THAT NORMALLY THEY ARE JUST PUTTING ALL THESES GOOD FEED BACK BY THEMSELVES TO GET BUSINESS.  flex.gif
So far the workmanship is top notch, they'll come according to schedule, which i value most, does as per design, treat their customer well, and if they say they'll finish, they'll finish. My granite top will be installed today. Hopefully it goes well.

i'm thinking of using only my wet kitchen as the cooking area.. but would like to make the countertop using concrete and 2x2 tiles.. wonder if anyone has ever done this and if there are any photos how it would look like placing the hood and hob in a concrete/tiles kitchen..

Tell the kitchen workers where you want to place the hob. they will measure how big the hole needed. for hood, just ask the installer to install. they know what height needed. simple as that. you just need to know where you want to cook. that place should be lengthy enough for the hood and hob. biggrin.gif

Dont worry about your investment in hiring Unity Design. They are good as posted by others in the forum. My friend and I are just one of their happy customers. They delivered as what they promised. Materials used are good and all installation done by professional installers. No other hidden or additional charges once you've confirmed your deal.

I am still pending for the black galaxy granite and some minor touch-ups from Unity. Highly recomended!! smile.gif

You can call for site measurement fisrt but you have to provide the dimensions of hood, hob, sink, oven, etc.. before factory start to manufacture your cabinet.
Have a nice day!

Ya, you may ask them to adjust the hood at the middle within the dish rack and tall unit. But if as what you said there is a original concrete table, do they have the hole for the stove on the concrete table?
(Stove advise not too close to the oven. unless u put the oven under the concrete table. )

Hi,

I want to do a new TV cabinet for my new house. The design is as follows:-

1) wall hung solid wood tv cabinet one foot above floor level. the cabinet must be strong enough to support 100kg of equipment (amplifiers, Cd player, etc). No chipboard or plywood for the main frames, just solid wood.

2) tv wall panels measuring 12 feet x 8 feet high

3) solid wood support for rear speakers

Please PM me your design and quotation or arrange for a visit to my place.

Thanks

we are a carpentry factory, but that is too hard to find this kind of material for your TV cabinet. Even, still can be find but i would say the cost is extreamly high.

Hi, Eleganz Concept

Thanks for your comments. i would appreciate if you could advise some other alternative materials with a lower cost. The suspended TV cabinet must be strong enough to support the heavy equipment, maybe metal frame with chipboard on sides would be a good alternative. But constructed of full chipboard is out as they tend to bend and distort no matter what you say, I have seen enough. The TV cabinet can be just a long rectangular box measuring 10 feet x 1.5 feet with no internal frames (see pic above). I can put my stuff on the top and inside the cabinet (20 feet space). Just a simple and strong cabinet. The wall is a shear wall, no worry. Anybody who is interested, please pm me. Thanks again!

Well, if you looking for alternative material which come with lower cost compare to solid wood then just use back the normal way from what we usually do, using laminated and ply wood. We did a lot and some of my client are putting thier 57" LCD just on top of our hanging TV cabinet of coz included all the equipment plus DVD collection in the drawer.

Will just pm you some infor.

very disappointed with UD. initially i contacted 2 diff KC guys here, steve and later UD. Steve met me at my place before reno started but din come back to me after that at all - no worries.

UD had very good service before installation, whether its at their showroom, or meeting up to do actual measurements, quote adjustments, even up before installation day, they called to remind that they will be coming. even the delivery guys called on actual installation day (Thurs 23 Dec) to confirm the time etc.

as I was at work, my parents were around to help monitor my house reno. apparently the installers were not the "primary" UD team, whatever that means, due to the rush to complete their orders. As a result, the installation was total CRAP:
1. melamine lamination was poor, certain portions looked like it was peeling off the board
2. screws were exposed because another board to cover it up wasn't installed.
3. my hood's chimney was bent and scratched, and the covering was not flush with the chimney, meaning lizards, dust, cockroaches etc can enter the chimney from the top with ease
4. other panels were poorly installed, dirty, or "swollen" from moisture exposure etc

the best part was this was only my wet kitchen. due to some confusion on UD's end, my dry kitchen never arrived. my parents were totally pissed as we were planning to use the new kitchen oven to roast a turkey (foh kai) for Christmas dinner (i'm not a Christian, but just for fun), but end up we just went out for steam boat (foh woh). Even the wet kitchen hob wasn't installed, i have no idea why. the installers just sed dunno and left.

Patric was uncontactable until late night and agreed to meet on 24 Friday at my place to check it out. He admitted it was their mistake for messing up the orders and agreed that the entire installation was crap - i demanded and he agreed to replace the entire set of cabinets with a new set and promised to have the replacement and dry kitchen installed on Monday 27th. Still waiting to see how that goes, but thank you UD for screwing up my Xmas weekend. anyone wants pics?

I managed to find a White Ash or White Oak solid wood which initially i intend to use as Kitchen top ( watching astro cooking channel much!).
8' x 2' just $800 (factory located PG mainland).
They also selling Burmese Teak, Merbau, Kempas, Hard maple, etc.. But White Oak looks stunning.

Hi, is't 3g glass is not good for kitchen cabinet. Kian Classique told me better to use Arcrylic other then use 3g. It;s easy to broke. Is't true. But i see that arcrylic is easy to scratch.
