i tried it,but it seems unable to proceed to that step.......after green light(1 sex),den turn to yellow(1/2 sec), lastly red light keep blinking........

It's confirm that your PS3 is dead. This kind of failure happened to a few of forumers here with the same model i.e 60GB, it's not a common failure but rare and you are one of the unlucky ones. So far as I know no shop can repair and you can't send to SONY Malaysia as it's not an official model launched here.

So sorry...may it RIP....

I heard quite a few ppl hav such cases, anyone can clarfiy eventually what the problem behind it? sounds scary....like xbox nia...

Same thing happened to mine. Basically, if you have your warranty, send it back to claim. If it's in Sg, it will take quite a bit of effort and time. Your dealer may be able to send it for you but if not, you may have to drive there yourself. Your hard disk should still be useable so if you can salvage that and all your files.

I'm on the way to pick up a 2nd hand PS3 in a moment actually!

One day, I'll drive up to Sg to get mine sorted. If you haven't fixed your problem, I'm happy to help you bring yours up too. I don't know when I'll be going up yet though!

Nothing to do with lightning or ventilation. It's just a problem the 60gb has.
