QUOTE(ooj @ Nov 22 2008, 04:24 PM) Same thing happened to mine. Basically, if you have your warranty, send it back to claim. If it's in Sg, it will take quite a bit of effort and time. Your dealer may be able to send it for you but if not, you may have to drive there yourself. Your hard disk should still be useable so if you can salvage that and all your files. i doubt they can fix it. they cant even replace/fix my lan port I'm on the way to pick up a 2nd hand PS3 in a moment actually! One day, I'll drive up to Sg to get mine sorted. If you haven't fixed your problem, I'm happy to help you bring yours up too. I don't know when I'll be going up yet though! but you can try though. i actually just spoke thru phone. good luck |

try these methods..
QUOTE Hey, today a woke up to a red flashing light on my ps3. I wondered wut it meant, searched it on google and found some pretty bad news. DEAD. after about 1/2 an hour of trying to turn it on i search a fix on google, but came up empty handed. i decided that i would take the matter into my own hands. i took the hard drive out and turned it on, and to my amazement it work i dont know how, but it worked. i then wanted to play resistance fall of man. i booted up the game and boom it turned off beeped 3 times and the light flashed red onece again. i took out the hard disk and booted it up again turned it off and put the hard disk back in. ive been playing ever since and it seems to be working fine. just thought that id give u guys a heads up, to help anyone else out there with the same problem. And just in case we didn't get the news right the first time, we got another email from MXACE a while later: hey yesterday i woke up to bad news, i turned on my ps3 by the swich in the back and about 2 seconds later it beeped three times and the red light started flashing. after trying to turn it on for about 1/2 an hour i realized that it wasnt going to turn on... i did some searching on the web and found nothing but 360 had the same problem. heres the interesting thing i found a ''fix'', all i did was take out the hard disk, and turn it on to get my game out. then i put the HD back in and turned it on. it worked. i booted up a game and the same damn red flashing light came back on. i repeated the steps and checked to see it the game would work now, and it did! im currently useing my ps3 to write this. i wanted to let you guys over at QJ.net because i couldnt find a fix anywere and maybe if you post this ill end up helping someone else. |

loumou, do you take care of your ps3? i mean do you clean your ps3 or you let it collect dust until you get yellow light? i read somewhere about a guy whose ps3 died and he send it back to sony. when those guys at sony opened his ps3, they found it was full of dust and refused to repair it for free.

QUOTE(ajis @ Nov 23 2008, 02:30 AM) Gotta use that brush head to get all the dirt off the fan. Normally overheating isn't a big problem in PS3s. As long as your ps3 is in a well ventilated place and rested after long hours of gaming it would be fine. But from experience, electronic stuff can just breakdown at any time. One minute it's happy and playing. Next it's dead. Just like my PS2. What a pain. |

QUOTE(loumou @ Nov 22 2008, 01:58 PM) i tried it,but it seems unable to proceed to that step.......after green light(1 sex),den turn to yellow(1/2 sec), lastly red light keep blinking........ the symptoms you described are what guys on the net call, the yellow light of death. generally it means there's a hardware failure in your PS3. the only way to fix this is to send it back to Sony. sigh....... read here for more info: After Dawn Forums |
