Ahhh forget that failed HDR pic...
About third party flash, I'm using Nissin Di622 Nikon mount with my D40, it serves me very well, I never tried Sb600 before so I can't compare. Just one issue in Di622: The AF assist light is not corresponding to the angle that the lens is pointing. Maybe you can visit Nissin di622 thread for more info about that... Again, sorry guys for showing such failure pic T.T I didn't calibrate my display when making that, now i calibrated already, my eyes are like @.@ Sorry yea |

If you liked it, thats all that matters. Its your creative decision. Comments from other people, however overly they are, are meant as OPINIONS for you to improve, not to invoke remorse to the extent of apology Sorry yea Yes your photo can be improved, a lot maybe. The colour, on my screen, is excessively vibrant. The lighter green is almost fluorescent. Had it not been for that 'burnt' cloud/sky, the overall vibrant look might actually work as an "extreme HDR". My opinion, my taste |

We are here to learn and improve our techniques. So others' comments are sincere and no meaning of criticizing. So just take the comment if u feel OK and no need to say sorry. exactly, there is no failure in arts, only failure in hearts.
@jessafreak to capture light trail, you will need long exposure time, aka. long shutter speed. maybe around 1 to few seconds, and of coz, a tripod is a must. You don't need speedlights to do that, u just need some lights passing by your camera, eg. cars at night. This post has been edited by mindkiller6610: Jun 17 2009, 09:02 AM |

QUOTE(machinetosh @ Jun 17 2009, 11:03 AM) can i ask for an opinion here?? Depends on what fucntion you need. D5k has video recording and the funky "twistable" LCD, and its MP is higher (although this doesn't matter much). Both doesn't have internal motor to AF.i was wondering to buy D60kit plus with sb600 but D5k also tempting lalalala so any good advise for a newbie like me would be more appreciated huhu one of this nikon's will be my 1st dslr by the end of this week..... be gentle to me Other functions that make D5000 more superior than D60 (source from dpreview): * 12.3 MP CMOS sensor (D60: 10.2 MP CCD) * Tilt/swivel screen * Live View with contrast detect AF * Movie Mode * Wider ISO range * 11 point AF system with 3D tracking (D60: 3 point AF) * Control of Active D-Lighting intensity * Automatic correction of lateral chromatic aberration * Choice of JPEG quality in RAW+JPEG shooting * Extra retouching options * More scene modes * Faster continuous shooting * Exposure bracketing The bold ones are important IMO. make your wise choice, don't regret after you have bought it. And try to hold them in camera shop, see which one suits you more. For more comparison, you can visit the link below: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond5000/ |

i am an ex-D40 user... if thr is anyone that is new to DSLR and wanted to get serious wit it, den i would suggest to get at least a DSLR with internal motor... there are few reasons why i said so....
1) we can use almost all of the lenses no matter itz with or without motor 2) u will save a lot in the future ( getting lenses with built in motor so that it is compatible wit a non-motor DSLR body is more expensive than those lenses without built in motor 3) using non-motor lenses on a non-motor DSLR is simple... but itz not as easy as u think... the method is sounds simple but applying it is totally different story.... above jus some of my humble opinions through my experience.... if u found tat my opinion is not useful, please ignore it... |
