What happen to the multiplex view mode? The one where you can preview all channels on 1 channel and select that channel and go to that channel....Astro took it off....Astro is really a "Malaysia Bodoh" company for overcharging its customers and taking out that service!!!!

I've cancelled Astro after getting a LCD TV. Poor picture quality, 4:3 aspect ratio and rain are the main reasons. Sweet revenge to them for changing the packages and raising subscription. IPTV and movie downloads is the future.

the sport channel really is cost increase the deal they just sign to broadcast EPL cost up to RM 800 million,

in contrast they are only spending RM 200 million for the HD upgrade project this year.

EPL can generate income with gila Football fans. HD? Not sure if got that many gila HD fans and more than the makan bola, tidur bola fans. Moveover, HD fans already dl their poison.

i remember reading the STAR biz news..saying astro spending a huge sum this year to upgrade the broadcast...
that is why i am not sure whether to get Full HD LCD or Full HD Plasma...

even EPL license cost increase, asss-throw shouldn't charged the cost to end user like us, asss-throw already over charged us. They are the monopoly business, tats y they can simply charge. its either u take it or leave it, u have no choice unless u only watch TV1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 (which already sold their broadcast right to asss-throw too).

hm....personally i dun think by any near future we will get HD broadcast from asss-throw, and i think one day if they broadcast in HD also, they will charge us with different rate for normal broadcast and HD broadcast. Normal broadcast no need pay extra but if u wan broadcast in HD, u need to add on "value added service" for RM50 per month maybe.....memang asss-throw or asss-hxle...

when there is a change in gomen then only ASSTRO will have no choice but to go digital or lose out to the competition.

astro channels are transmitted in DVB digital format since day one, now we are waiting it to go HD or maybe HD-3D

Has anyone tried using Astro with an XRGB?

Asssthrow is really overcharging us....in less than a year recently they increase their subscription rates 3 times....not only low-tech inferior service....but they dump a lot of stupid advertistments on TV as well....they are payTV....we are paying for their survival....why the hell they need to become like those shit ass dumb TV1,2,3,7,8,9 for when they are raking a lot of money from us?

I watch a lot of Korean Pop MV like SNSD, Kara, BigBang... many 720P source.

you can find a documentary "HOME" in 1280 x 720P in youtube, is a full length 90 mins. try to HDMI to your HDTV, those view is spectacle.

btw - heard the new decoders all got component out...can existing subscribers with the old decoder request for change to this new decoder?

even it's using component out the quality will be still the same, as we still get the analogue signal.

while the component out is analog, you are getting a digital signal from Astro, have been since the day you subscribed, in case you haven't noticed.

Yup, some just confuse between HD and digital.

Read that they going to go HD before next year World Cup. Think they have to if they going to charge extra for all the live games and multi cam angles...
