it just like maxis last time when it monopoly the market, RM288 for a randum number. now, with so many telco compete, RM8.50 u can get a new number with RM10 talk time inside + SMS...so better u change ur number whenever ur talk time is used up

What we can do now to improve the Astro PQ is to plug in a good build cable, eg Monster cables.

It does improve the PQ by 10-20%. Many of my customers acknowledged that improvement.

"Astro going HD" is considered fictional at this point of time.

Astro is owned by Measat owned by Binariang...Measat-3a already able to beam HD contents...able to compress HD signals to mpeg4 & transmit via DVB-S/S2 to HD receivers...

how come Astro, its own brand, not able to deliver HD contents to end subscriber?

Don't get me wrong bro.. I too want to see more competition...  more competition means better deal for us consumers.. but I was just making the point that it is difficult for new entrants into the market because Astro has choked any potential competition, plus the super long, government given monopoly status it receives gives it an unfair advantage..   Kinda a chicken and egg story la.. we subscribe to Astro because there is no other alternative, but because we all already subscribe to Astro, difficult for new players in the market.. so Astro continues to give us mediocre products... the re-runs on the Astro are unbelievable.. sometimes totally nothing to see as we've already seen the programmes on Astro before.

is it possible and feasible for astro to go HD? like for audience who might not have budget to buy TV that support it? maybe they consider that

But interestingly CNN, BBC, Al-Jazeera, CNBC already in HD, it's the future trend! Everything in HD, so that we can see who hold the pepper spray in clarity and no more argument.

Total digital FTA channel to be 19, including RTM and Media Prima. So there are some empty slot for new channel to be introduced.

RTM HD whenever trial run will be aired to whole Klang Valley. Thus any USB TV receiver with DVB-T will able to capture the signal, even now you can receive some trial channel in clarity and with EPG. Also some digital RTM radio channel.

Thus, only viewer who take those packages can install the HD decoder from ASTRO..
The freq required for HD signal is very high.. Those using Main disc in apartments cannot use the HD service as it need special bigger disc..And those with bad quality wall conceal coaxial cable (usually developer wanna save cost then use china mada wire) also will having problem to use it..

Yes.. just pray your apartment management allow u to install your own satellite disc outside your apartment..

Just to add confirmation to the Astro HD issue.  My kawan from the press has been invited for Astro's media briefing on the impending arrival of HD to Astro next week.  Of course, the billion dollar question is still when, but hopefully we will know by next week
