Need your help on this ASTRO going HD thingy. I was told by contractor that with ASTRO HD (coming soon), the ASTRO cable also need to be changed. Is this true?

which cable...from decorder to tv sure la change..

how about from the satelite dish to the decoder?

I think decoder need to change if astro goes for HD and monthly charge also increase............

Bros, If ASTRO going digital next year which one i.e. Plasma or LCD TV is the better option then in terms of picture quality. Would appreciate if the Bros here could share their views as I'm currently in the midst of shopping for TV...Thanks

If going digital (rumors), then both no difference.

But atm, since its SD, Plasma is better since SD look more nicestest on Plasma.

If Astro is so important, buy Plasma, so you can enjoy Astro even when not yet HD

Astro was already digital since the its launch in 1996. The decoder and braodcast is 100% digital. As a question of HD, it will take Astro till year 8888AD to become a reality....by then we would already passed on with such future technologies like 3D TV, Surround Video, Interactive TV, Immersive TV, Holographic TV and so on....

aiya....astro is a monopoly business la, goin HD???? slow slow wait laaa, wait until got a few competitors fight with it then u wan astro broadcast in 3D also can. as for now, dun hope this stupiak blood sxxking axxhole company to do us any favour la...it somemore jst increase sports channel for RM10 nia, saying wat wat cost increase la, bla bla bla...

it just like maxis last time when it monopoly the market, RM288 for a randum number. now, with so many telco compete, RM8.50 u can get a new number with RM10 talk time inside + SMS...so better u change ur number whenever ur talk time is used up

if astro really go hd broadcast we really need to buy tv tunner or set top box for image quality
