Guys, do u think a very good PSU is also a factor to get the
system prime stable??
I'm starting to feel like my PSU is holding me back plak :/sweat:
yup, fat + stable +12v rail(s) is essential for prime stable. get a decent 750watter lah bro, like zeus series of silverstone or others.

hats off to u bro, 5'c is alot seriously...

i guess i pretty much understand about the ratio..but still not quite undersand about the divider setting.
found this

http://www.overclock.net/amd-memory/146129...m-dividers.htmlcan pls tell me how it works and how to calculate.. since im using 10.5x multi..im taking the 10x multii only
download cpucalc @
HERE, from d gui u'll have some idea how d freq is calculated.

Funding :/hehe:
But does GGB have the same performance as D?
ggb ddr2 board (790gx ud4 something) has cold boot issue, not a great choice if u ask me, however, their ddr3 790fx board is doin rather well. d only few boards can match or even better than fxb are a$u$ top tier 790fx boards. price wise u know i know loh...

but if the ram limiting? personally, which one u prefer? stay close to htt or doesnt care the gab is too much?
depend on ya ram, if ur havin atleast an agena & ya ram can clock around 1066 or higher, u can always go for low htt, & high multi w/ ddr1066 divider. if not, u got play around w/ htt a 'lil. gone were d days that high fsb give better performance (d gud old athlon xp day), now, it's d MHz that counts.

my bad...
one more question
if i obtain the 1066mhz one, so i can keep my ram running fast with high htt.
but the hyper x 1066 one is cl5... and the 800 one available in cl4..
the latency and the mhz... which one will be more advantage? (or need i post it in ram thread?)
tight timin always need more volts, where else loose timin @ higher freq need less. performance wise ofcoz d tighter d better, but i wouldn't run my ram @ tight timin for 24/7 for sure, for benchies only still ok. google around timing vs frequency, u'll easily get ya answer. at > 1066, loose timin (5-5-5-x) mite pwn tight timin @ < 450 (4-4-4-x) in some test iirc.

been a while since my last post here.. got some question here.. last time my rig can reached 3204mhz on orthos >1hour stable but now after changed my ram to crucial D9 the same setting not stable.. edy pumped 2.1vdimm there+active cooling.. i tink my previous DHX better..
lower down d divider, prime w/ same vcore, like that u can know which one is causin d problem. imc behave differently w/ diff kinda ram, u can't expect d same vcore all d time w/ diff modules used.

I think its nearly 2 years plus since I was the Overclockers United daily poster and after a longgggg 'holiday' I would like to start again...
But before I start, I would like to ask regarding which boards listed below would be the best for OC stuffs...
Probably go for the 780G chipset, but I still find there are variations of SB700 and SB750. Is the later has better functions? Owh and I probably pair it with 7750 BE...
1.Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H
2.ECS A780GM-A Ultra
3.ASUS M3A78 Pro
780g will definitely limit ya oc sir, from d 3, only ecs board come w/ sb750, which has an edge over others as acc does help in bringin d best outta some chips. spec wise it's d best too as it's d only board offers esata. however, bios could be d weak point of it since bro casperito mentioned that there are voltage limitations, which is important for mid~heavy oc. at d end of d day, budget & how u gonna use d board will influence ya decision on which board u'll get. asus would be d most expensive one i guess. tough call if i were to choose one, gigabyte would be d least favorite, ecs has gud specs but bios mite be an issue, asus is better in bios but w/ sb700 only. i believe none of 'em are suitable for heavy oc (chipset limitation). biostar 790gx series (be it matx or atx) would be a better choice if budget is allowed. i think that's d max one can spend on a board (any higher end board will seriously overkill) for a 7750 chip unless u plan to upgrade d chip at later stage. my 2 cents only sir...
