helo guys,

i used crosshair ii formula n i'm really new in OC. so i google how to oc my proc and found some setting. i used that setting n manage to get 3.5GHz stable. below are the setting.

(200 x 17.5) @ 1.425
VDDNB = +150mv
DDR2 = 2.1V
HT = 1.30V
k8 <-> NB = 1.8GHz
CPU - NB = mult 9

do i really need to set the VDDNB, HT, K8 <-> NB and CPU - NB value? as i know, we only need to adjust the multiplier and frequency.

i cant get 3.8GHz stable, although i increase the voltage up to 1.5V. any idea how to push my system more? or is it at limit? because my max temp during 3dmark06 is 66C. hmm.gif

sifu2..
is 3dmark really stress out cpu? if not...what will be the temp then if stress using prime...
if yes..ignore me.

what's d settin @ 3.8GHz? if still 19 * 200 then it mite not be ram realted, it's either temp/chip issue as d ram is hardly stressed if they were ran @ stock speed. 66'c onload won't do stability any gud, but still d capability of d chip and/or oc setting play bigger part in failure to achieve 3.8Ghz imo. sort out d temp issue 1st if possible.  smile.gif
66'c still ok for short bench i guess, but long term usage is a no-no for me...  nod.gif

yup, 200*19. so, is it because of the temp? i oredi used ccf + mx2. still not enough ka? lol. or maybe its the bios issue? i mean the bios version. i used the latest one oredi. hmm.gif

well have u compare it with either bios temp or asus probe temp.... i dont trust other softwares other than asus own utilities programe such as asus suite or probeII coz they dont give the right reading usually +5c of the actual temp....

like mine here look at the highlighted cpu temp diff....

3.5Ghz stable on which test do you mean?

3.8 during 1.5v right??? and the temps is around 66c?

First of all do you feel the CCF when temps is at 66c? is it very warm or just warm?? Compare to the NB heatsink by touching both during operation....if the 'warmness' of you heatsink really isn't that warm but your probing software shows high temps, 1 possibility is that the CCF isn't fully contact with the CPU, try and take out all carefully and look at the thermal paste pattern...Is there any place that the TIM doesnt contact with the CPU and the heatsink?

Or sometimes it would be a software related issue....Try using speedfan and HWMonitor and look for the difference in reading as compared to your Asus temp software...

there's nothing wrong w/ non solid caps as long as those near cpu area are solid, but for sure full solid caps on all area look nicer on d eye. t-power for amd boards??? that would be d day that amd regain d performance crown i guess... sweat.gif

frankly speakin given d situation on how nvidia price their cards now who will think of havin sli rig? i believe more users would favor buildin a dual gpu rig usin ati rather than nvidia coz ati are really doin well in mid range market lately. a cf rig need ati chipset board, so ati chipset based boards will be more in demand than its counterpart. d only reason i can think of d lackin of 790fx board from biostar is they dun wanna kill off d sale of their 790gx line. since value is their sellin point so sellin a cheap fx board is like shootin 'emselves at d their feet... smile.gif

performance crown will still be w/ d blue camp, but gud sign is amd is cathcin up in d mid range market (which matter d most as high end market is just a small portion of d whole cpu market). wink.gif
