Hoo, is it locked or unlocked unit?
If it is locked unit, then you're in trouble as for now unless you have the simcard where your phone lock with. say AT&T.
Right now, there is no method to jailbreak and unlock with the latest baseband.

Not sure locked or unlocked.. I buy from ebay.. Before this my iphone ver is 3.0 and no problem after insert my celcom simcard.. But after restore to 3.1, oh god..

u need to wait de lo.. ur i3gs will become most expensive ipod touch.. wait for the JB come out only can unlock it back..
next time must read first before do anything

i think probably is locked set.. u need to find it out.. if locked set then u need to wait JB 3.1 come out lo..

I assume that the person who sold to you already unlock the unit before sell to you. As 3.0.X is available for unlock but not 3.1 with the latest baseband.
Well, you at least can wait for DevTeam to exploit the baseband in near future.

Can jailbreak assuming that you already jailbreak it when you're on 3.0.X, and using the custom ipsw to upgrade the firmware, but does not upgrade baseband.

Just got i3GS and it is 3.1 OTB . Hope the dev team will release the new tool soon.

Wow. Seems that new batch came with 3.1

why wld anybody wanna JB? it is so inconvenient and u will lose latest features/updates the great team at apple is providing.

get a life; use the iphone as intended and enjoy the experience.

Lol, we don't loose anything, we actually gain much much more.

The problem is he's already flashed his iPhone to OS 3.1

Pwnage tool only allow jailbreak for user who is already jailbroken iPhone OS 3.0.1 and stay with the jailbroken firmware prior updating to 3.1

You can't do quick SMS reply if you're using official firmware

buddy, u have long long way to learn/explore the TRUE power of iphone.. lol

I'm not losing any latest feature of the official firmware, infact, I can do more things that u can't do on official firmware. With the additional addon and software available on jailbroken devices, it makes my life a whole lot easier and save me a lot of time. Get ur facts right!

Can we downgrade i3Gs to 3.0??

Yesterday my iphone just suddenly pop up error msg "this accesories is not compatible with iphone". while i just let it stanby.. >.<

guess i'll have to restore it back soon. T_T
