I know charger has tickle-charge to fully charge it. Will charging using PC USB port shorten the lifespan of the battery? I am charging my fone daily as I am at work thru my notebook, worry this will have impact to the lifespan of the bettery.

Apple webpage says the internal battery can still retain 80% efficiency after 1000 cycle of charges.

I don't trust the folks at Low Yat especially when it comes to iPhone. Suggest you look up Hanxz at GS here. He should be able to help you.

Hi guys
just wan to share this apps
i recommended Battery Doctor Pro

Battery Doctor Pro can help do Full Cycle Charge quickly

What is"Full Cycle Charge"?

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based batter, its important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally.Be sure to go through at least one full cycle charge per month(charging the battery from less than 20% to full)

Tips for Battery

Stay away from heat

Paying attention to just a few commonsense pointers will pay off with a longer batter lifespan and battery life for your iphone/ipod.
The most important thing is to keep your iPhone out of the sun or a hot car(including the glove box).Heat will degrade your battery's performance the most

Update to the latest OS

Always make sure your iPhone/iPod has the latest OS from Apple.as engineers may find new ways to optimize batter performance.
For example,OS 3.1.2 has better battery life than previous one.

Optimize setting-Iphone

Depending on how they are configured,a few features may decrease your iPhone battery life. For example, the frequency with which you retrieve email and the number of email account you auto-check can both affect battery life.

The tips below apply to an iPhone running iPhone 3.0 or later software and may help extend your battery life.

Minimize use of location services
Turn off push notifications
Fetch new data less frequently
Turn off push mail
Auto-check fewer email accounts
Minimize use of third-party applications
Turn off Wi-Fi
Turn off Bluetooth
Use Airplane Mode in low-Or no Coverage areas
Adjust brightness
Turn off EQ
Turn off 3G

Let it breathe

Charging your iPhone/iPod while in certain carrying cases may generate excess heat, which can affect battery capacity

If you notice that your iPhone/iPod gets hot when you charge it,take it out of its case first.

sorry to have kinda interrupted...

I wonder if anyone has experienced of replacing battery from Apple service center or whichever official servicing party?

It kind of puts me in trauma to charge my iPhone.... after gaming, surfing, facebook...(that's the best point of owning iPhone right?) It is said that the battery lifespan is for like... 400 times correct? ..... it's counting in my head everytime I'm charging...haha....

I'm not worried about the price to pay for replacing a battery.... but to get my iPhone>Maxis>Apple..... is going to take 4 - 6 weeks as mentioned by Maxis.... it's killing.... sad.gif

so I wonder if the battery would really deteriorate after that amount of charge cycle? 1 charge each day..... sometimes if extreme.... 2 charges a day..... it leaves my iPhone battery to stay up good in one year.... or less?? cry.gif

iPhone 4g... Yea... Never thought of it... Haha... Just hope it's somehow affordable... But might need to switch carrier then... Maxis after sales service is not too promising...
