QUOTE(stutzedward @ Apr 28 2009, 09:47 AM) bro buzza, I will try tht comparison on my iPhone. Yeah, I do agree different fone has different type of batt. Can I attempt to put this topic to rest? We have listened or rather read all the arguments but I think it is up to each individual whether to take heed of what were put forth. However, it is always good to know the dangers associaiting with a certain methodology. At least in that manner, we embark on somethings with adequate knowledge. That, my friends, is why it is good to have forums like this. With that said, let's all enjoy our precious little gadget and take care of it. Cheers.

my experience, i do believe (this is my personal opinion) that charging tru USB port makes my iphone batt last longer than the normal iphone charger.
but this is only from my personal opinion n experience... im not sure about others. my usage....
80% charging tru USB 20% charging tru iphone charger...

I am asking for my friend. Her iPhone heats up when it's charging, is this normal? Another problem, during charging, our battery indicator usually shows a 'thunder' logo on the top right battery indicator but even NOT FULL YET (the battery indicator), the 'thunder' logo changed to an 'adapter' logo, which means it's fully charged. I compared hers against my iPhone, no heating at all, is this normal?
This only happens the past few days for her. We both use Maxis set, mine is 1 mth old and hers is only 2.5 weeks plus. Pls help, thanks!

I got this strange error today as well
iPhone shows its fully charged. iTunes says the battery is half way (no thunder icon nor plugged in icon). I discharged it fully by letting it to drain the battery. Charged it back with AC adapter to maximum
It seems to be okay !

Pls help, thanks! First, your fren charge at USB or AC? Second, if the phone is under a full body casing, try remove it. in fact abit hot is normal due to the battery is charging. of course you can feel not yet if you charge the phone in the air-con room.

She uses charger to charge as she worries USB will spoil her battery. I am asking her to try using USB and see if this still occurs. What about battery heating, mine doesn't heat up but hers does she said. It's warm, even the front screen.

Update:
For the past few days, my friend said the fone has been behaving FINE. Only slight warmish when charging using charger but it's cool when using USB.
I personally guess USB charging will be better then....

This subject matter has being discussed and deliberated at length and like so many issues, there are differences in opinion. So, we all do what we think is better for ourselves.

What about battery heating, mine doesn't heat up but hers does she said. It's warm, even the front screen. Just to add my opinion on the heating issue. I believe its warm when using the adapter because the voltage is higher thus generating more heat. This will also lead to much faster charging versus USB. Would not be worried and both ways I believe are fine as long as they are using original Apple accessories. Cheers.
