What is the most efficient cooler pad for Compaq Presario CQ40 AMD Series.
Will there be any drawback in terms of the proc speed or will it do any harm by undervolting the laptop? Thanks in advance~ This post has been edited by gto87: Jul 13 2009, 04:01 AM |

I bought a CQ40-401 two days ago (Proc AMD 2.2Ghz together with HD3200 and 4GB Ram and 3 years extended warranty) I got it all for RM 1880. Got a back pack together with HP Original bag and other typical freebies. I think it's the cheapest I can get for time being. Or am I wrong?
Anyway, I'm new to the world of laptop and this my first time. Sorry for the noob question earlier. Can anybody explain to me about the drivers issue. Is there any problem with it? To those who undervolt their laptop, do you guys use prime95 or linx? This post has been edited by gto87: Jul 14 2009, 12:19 AM |

to those that want to undervolt, i suggest user IntelBurnTest http://downloads.guru3d.com/IntelBurnTest-...nload-2047.html , easier to use.
i also suggest u also test with a demanding game. i stress test prime95 for 3 hours, no problem, but when i game, BSOD in 5 minutes, had to raise the voltage alittle before everything was stable. |

Wow, now that's something weird. What kinda game did you play? and how come it's more stressful than the Prime95?i also suggest u also test with a demanding game. i stress test prime95 for 3 hours, no problem, but when i game, BSOD in 5 minutes, had to raise the voltage alittle before everything was stable. Anyway, what's the stable voltage for your laptop bro? |

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jul 13 2009, 01:11 AM) overclock the cpu to 2.5ghz 1.05v Nice overclock there. What software you use for overclocking?max temperature get 95c testing purpose only ...daily will be using back 2.2ghz For stability testing, I reccommend OCCT, Intel Burn Test or LinX for faster error detection. I think LinX is the most stressful of all the program there. |

Guys.. Just tested my friend's Cooler Master Infinite. The temp were reduced by 7c on load.
So, I'm asking to all CQ40 sifus here, Is there any other Notebook cooler that can perform better than Infinite? Have you guys tried any other notebook cooler? Thanks~ EDIT: I lowered my laptop voltage to 1.0375v and stress it with prime95. The temp is insanely high as it goes nearly 90c within the first 5 minutes. So I stopped the test after 5 minutes. Is it normal to have such temp? This post has been edited by gto87: Jul 14 2009, 04:52 PM |

QUOTE(gto87 @ Jul 14 2009, 04:07 PM) Guys.. Just tested my friend's Cooler Master Infinite. The temp were reduced by 7c on load. Yes, normal. Actually normal temp for gaming would be 90-100C.So, I'm asking to all CQ40 sifus here, Is there any other Notebook cooler that can perform better than Infinite? Have you guys tried any other notebook cooler? Thanks~ EDIT: I lowered my laptop voltage to 1.0375v and stress it with prime95. The temp is insanely high as it goes nearly 90c within the first 5 minutes. So I stopped the test after 5 minutes. Is it normal to have such temp? Here are some of what it says on IntelBurnTest readme: CODE A program that simplifies the usage of Intel(R) Linpack. Linpack by Intel(R) is an extremely stressful program that will put even the most pow- -erful X86/X64 CPU in the world at its knees. Load temp under Linpack will be up to 22*C higher than the competing software Prime95. This program will make usage of Linpack easier and more practical. Benefits of using Linpack: 1. More accurate than Prime95 Small FFTs/Blend (under x64 OS). 2. Takes less time to tell if your CPU/RAM is unstable than Prime95 (usually something like 8 minutes Linpack vs 40 hours under Prime95). 3. Use the same stress-testing engine that Intel uses to test their products before they are packed and put on shelves for sale. Benefits of using IntelBurnTest: 1. Simplifies usage of Linpack. 2. Real-time output of results to the screen. 3. Simplifies the process of selecting a test size to use. 4. Better appearance. 5. Intuitive interface. 6. Real-time error checking. 7. System status acknowledgement. Still, i recommend u test with a demanding game also. My K10STAT: 1.0250 0.8000 0.7500 |

Guys, i'm getting 2 401AX 2morow. Any things I should check on, or any advise you guys have for me?
There seemed to be alot of drivers in the HP website, what do you guys say if I do not install those things like "Wireless Assitant", I would prefer using default Windows wireless manager, do not like too many softwares running in the background. Why is it that they show drivers for fingerprint reader and DVBT tuner when CQ40 do not have it? Thanks. Added on July 14, 2009, 9:34 pmAlso, I want to ask about 401AX, I have been told that this card has 512 dedicated memory but another said that its actually 256 onboard memory with another 256 shared memory ?
