Btw, I noticed now the core clock for the HD 3450 is down to 300mhz from 500mhz. I suspect HP lower down the clock speed through the latest BIOS to prevent overheating and prolong battery life. Can anyone check the core clock for HD 3450? Im very sure the speed was 500mhz when I got it first time.

Maybe its just my machine. I believe that it has always been 300mhz, anyone with the lower bios version that F42 can try gpuz or AtiTrayTools and see that the core clock speed is not 500. But others like everest and the catalyst information tab show 500mhz. There're a few users having the same issue posted a screenshot of the clock speeds on the old thread.

I updated to version F42, and now it shows 300mhz on all gpu monitoring utility/catalyst, but i didnt notice any speed drops at all. If anything it got just a tad bit faster when i benchmark my games since the bios updates the amd agesa code to improve stability and compatibility.

Anybody dare to downgrade to the lowest version F.03 and see if got improvement anot? whistling.gif

do u mind posting a gpu-z screenie of the clock speed? my catalyst show that its 500mhz, but only 300mhz on gpu-z. after f42, all show that its 300mhz.

Bro, can teach how to undervolt?

i got prime95, k10stat and a tool to monitor heat etc etc.

After i set the voltage, how do i use prime95 to stress-test it? What settings to use?

and also, how to stress-test at the the lower processor speeds? the 550mhz and 1100mhz one.

2nd, when i buying this laptop, i extended the warranty for 3 year..but this shop also offer me free upgrade to 2GB ram. so, when they upgrade the memory.. they removed the previos 1 stick 1 GB ddr2 and installed 1 stick 2GB ddr2

so, what happen to my warrranty..void or not? bcoz i read in this forum, if we want claim for warranty, have to bring RAM that before upgrading..it is true? but i dont have it sad.gif

dude doh.gif the processor will downclock is a GOOD thing. sweat.gif Its to lower power consumption, heat. the processor will vary its clockspeed according to load, normal stuff.

as for the ram, i really doubt it. never heard of such shit before, my friend brought for warranty, change hd, ram, no problem.

the older models gc have just 256mb, the 401ax series has an upgraded 512mb. prolly thats what he meant by 'improved'.

rm2500? tricked? like i said, kinda. paying like rm250(or more) extra for a printer u dont need and anti-virus u can get another alternate for free.

should be just around 2.1-2.25k. 1950(laptop)+199(warranty)+70(ram) = 2219.

its very difficult to know what the problem is, it can be either hardware or software. perhaps it can even be a virus or a trojan?
since u say windows shutting your games down, ur best bet i to leave a screenshot of it here, maybe some OS related problem. maybe someone can help.

obviously....i think any laptop also will be the same. putting on your bed will only prevent the air from coming out, not to mention the heat buildup of the fabric will only make it worse. tell ur friend to put something flat and solid beneath the laptop.

There's no real heat issue if u can 'tahan' the heat. before i undervolt the heat can go up to 110 deg celsius. so....yeah, if u dun mind frying your left hand....there's no real problem lol. amd+ati are known to be quite tahan the heat.

something wrong with my opengl
suddenly lost opengl compliance, now version 1.1 oni shakehead.gif

im pretty sure the hd3450 supports up to opengl 2.0

games that i used to play suddenly cannot play di sniff*

can someone check their opengl extension version please? if its 2.0, what bios version u using? and what gpu driver u using?

low lol? i've tried, best u could get was 1024x768 on low. u can higher and stuff, but shaders....nono.

and to the guy right above, not much difference, if anything it could be faster than the hd3450 since the speeds is capped at 300mhz for the newer bios, but not for the hd3200. not to mention its integrated into the chipset, it should perform better relatively speaking.

to those that want to undervolt, i suggest user IntelBurnTest http://downloads.guru3d.com/IntelBurnTest-...nload-2047.html , easier to use.

i also suggest u also test with a demanding game. i stress test prime95 for 3 hours, no problem, but when i game, BSOD in 5 minutes, had to raise the voltage alittle before everything was stable.

Yes, normal. Actually normal temp for gaming would be 90-100C.

Here are some of what it says on IntelBurnTest readme:

bro, where to buy this laptop? i check the pricelists but dont see this model, czone selling the kb40 with geforce g 102m wan lah, but that wan fail miserably even in comparison with our hd3450.

btw, i thought the model ur talking about comes with hd4570? and whats the proc speed?

as far as i know, its impossible to oc the gpu on the lappy. on my 133AX, ive tried every gpu ocing software there is out there, rivatuner doesnt even read it. AtiTrayTools and AtiTools don't work(the slider will return to normal after u refresh the page) and Amd Overdrive which seems like the only one that i thought was working, when i run gpu-z or everest the clock rates didnt change one bit.

hope u know that, if u find a way to oc tell me yah, cheers.
