What is the most efficient cooler pad for Compaq Presario CQ40 AMD Series.

Will there be any drawback in terms of the proc speed or will it do any harm by undervolting the laptop?

Thanks in advance~

I bought a CQ40-401 two days ago (Proc AMD 2.2Ghz together with HD3200 and 4GB Ram and 3 years extended warranty) I got it all for RM 1880. Got a back pack together with HP Original bag and other typical freebies. I think it's the cheapest I can get for time being. Or am I wrong?

Anyway, I'm new to the world of laptop and this my first time. smile.gif

Sorry for the noob question earlier. tongue.gif

Can anybody explain to me about the drivers issue. Is there any problem with it?

To those who undervolt their laptop, do you guys use prime95 or linx?

to those that want to undervolt, i suggest user IntelBurnTest http://downloads.guru3d.com/IntelBurnTest-...nload-2047.html , easier to use.

i also suggest u also test with a demanding game. i stress test prime95 for 3 hours, no problem, but when i game, BSOD in 5 minutes, had to raise the voltage alittle before everything was stable.

Wow, now that's something weird. What kinda game did you play? and how come it's more stressful than the Prime95?

Anyway, what's the stable voltage for your laptop bro?

Guys.. Just tested my friend's Cooler Master Infinite. The temp were reduced by 7c on load.

So, I'm asking to all CQ40 sifus here, Is there any other Notebook cooler that can perform better than Infinite? Have you guys tried any other notebook cooler?

Thanks~

EDIT: I lowered my laptop voltage to 1.0375v and stress it with prime95. The temp is insanely high as it goes nearly 90c within the first 5 minutes. rclxub.gif

So I stopped the test after 5 minutes. Is it normal to have such temp?

Walaweyh!! Nice Clocking Bro.

I'm not brave enough to clock it above stock cause I'm not very familiar with Laptops and somehow i find laptop is more "fragile" when it comes to things like this~

Just Finished Undervolting my laptop. I did 5 runs (30 mins) with Linx and the load temp is 90-94c sweat.gif (idle is 50-55c)

My setting is 1.0250, 0.8000, 0.7500.

Cooler: crappy cooler pad (freebie)

I also tested the same setting with PES2009 with the highest setting and had no problem running it. I think maybe it's stable now.

If anyone can do a lower vcore, please do post it here. Thanks~

i cant go lower than 1.0375 or else it will not be stable ..
nice result there bro

Just finished undervolting again. This time my setting is 1.0125, 0.8000, 0.7500 and it went pretty well on Linx for 10 runs (1 hour plus)

I have one small problem. Have you guys tried rebooting intentionally after undervolting.
I can't seem to reboot perfectly. Laptop hang just before it enters windows. hmm.gif
No such problem if I completely shutdown and on it again.

I just received both 401AX from Vergil90 and FlamingIT, both good sellers, offer cheap prices.

Now I have a problem, I bought the HP Care Pack and already filled up the form and wanted to send it back to HP, but the fax number is not reachable, and so is their general line.

Any info guys?

Thanks

I just called the customer service department and the staff there gave me a new fax number (03-20962251) and a general line (1800 80 6099)for any questions regarding the HP Care Pack.

very hard to change processor for laptop although it is possible

try overclock it . i can reach 3ghz .it is fast on multitasking
*
Hurm, if it can't restart means it's a startup problem right? Will figure it out later.

Overclocking is fun bro and mine can only do 3.0GHz with 1.0375Vcore doh.gif . I'm not sure whether it's stable or not because I'm still testing. But I'm too afraid that it'll harm my lappy.

IMO Laptop is not suitable for overclocking. Hehe. Just my 2 cents~

Calling anybody else who OCed their laptop to share their experience, thanks~

run 6 hours? means i have to run this software and put aside test by itself for 6hours?
*
How bout if you use linpack and stress it for 5 or 10 runs. It'll take like an hour or so but it's enough to test the settings stability.

Mind break it down for me, my friend's LCD were broken (not literally). No more warranty. Can anybody let me know where can he send his laptop to repair, thanks

Added on February 27, 2010, 11:02 pmNevermind, he took it to sunway, I'm not sure where (will ask him later) but he managed to slove it. The prick was the GC in the Lappy. Something wrong with it.
