If by LED, you mean the Caps Lock/Num lock LED, one time refers to CPU failure..

My cq40-127au cannot boot up with 1 blink on cap/scroll/num locks 3 months ago.
At first i thought to repair it, but since i hv read this posts, n i finally realised Such a bad design ~
i decided to dissemble all the parts to sell. Any suggestion to who i can sell ???

anyone here tried replacing the CMOS battery on HP G42 laptop? My friend's one the time keeps resetting, or suddenly become slower/faster. Can I send it straight to HP and ask them to replace it? The laptop is still covered by warranty.

if the unit is still under warranty please do send it to HP service center to get the issue resolved.

Do I send it directly to HP Tower at Damansara? or any service center? how long would it take?

I'm at Kajang, but I think I'll go there too. Lately the laptop is starting to give problems, like corrupt files and acting quite weird in Windows. Btw does the warranty cover the battery too?

my cq40 has been working since 2008, only changed a faulty hdd thus far. lately, diablo3 has made me make up my mind to replace this laptop, my guess is it wud not support. does any of u here play diablo3 using ur cq40? hows the performance?

If I want to upgrade RAM, or HDD, what's the max i can upgrade too?

My CQ40 stilll running super. just installed windows7 and running quite smoothly.

Battery died so now using as my "media player" connected to my TV streaming from my shared drive of my primary laptop.

Hi, my cq40 suddenly having display issue as many others have experienced with this model. I know it's a long shot but can anyone figure out what's happening with my cq40? The os runs prefectly but the lcd does not work @ very low brightness. I've been using this laptop for quite some time now and perhaps it's time for me to change the lcd or buy a new laptop but if there's any way that i can fix this laptop w/o changing lcd i would like to know how.

Btw, i tried changing the resolution using the very minimal brightness that i can see but it didn't change a thing.

My CQ42 just died on me. Anyone know how much to replace the graphics chip? I think they don't sell it separately. Worst case is change the whole motherboard.
