Guys, i interested in the model CW series, but afraid the repair charges will be higher when send back to sony for fixing. I saw the first page written about the extended warranty up to 3 years. Does anyone have idea whether the extended warranty cover all the parts in a laptop or just certains parts ?

haih! my CS36 fan start to make strange sound after switch on notebook for a few hours...now need to sent back to claim warranty, haven't even use the notebook for more than 3 months...

How bout the Repair and service of VAIO like how long it take to repair after the laptop send to service center? Is is common to have the laptop repair in the service center for 2 weeks? Would appreciate if someone can share experience on this...

I heard 2 weeks is the fastest already if you take other manufacturer's serviceing period, it would take even longer. But it's not really necessarily 2 weeks, sometimes you can get your set back withn 5 days if there is no problem with the spare part etc. Just go directly to their main service centre northpoint MidValley, maybe even faster 1 or 2 days.

I on dilemma now. Should i get dell studio 14 or sony cw... d sales rep say can arrange for delivery on weekend for me. But in the mean time, i need a notebook for the next two weeks... Really hard to decide.

d sony cw series comes with a laptop backpack which might cost rm200 if purchase separately, so if deduct out means is around 3100 d laptop, d dell studio with the almost same spec except poorer graphic cards den the sony cw is also 3100. But dell got on-call diagnosis and they do send their technician in event the notebook got problem. So, you wont have to trouble yourself to send the notebook to service center.

In my opinion, sony is a branded product and vaio usually cost few hundred more than other laptop wif same specs. so now for u, dell studio and vaio cw are the same price, why dont u choose the one which is more value for u? =D btw, u will know the quality of product from sony once u use it, and almost dont wan to get others brand. =p

I see. Well, i did went to the sony showroom to play around with the laptop. Personally, i quite like the design and performance of this laptop, but afraid of the in the event laptop got problem, then need to send to service center for around few weeks. then, would have no notebook to use for few weeks.

But so far, i heard from one my friend who using VAIO got no problem with her laptop after using for like 1++ year except the firmware problem which can be solve by upgrade the firmware to the latest 1...


Benq.. hm.. issit reliable ? well no offense, but my view on benq, when it comes to laptop, it looks like not mature yet.
