Hi all.
I bought this desktop for RM2k on August (just 2 months ago) I am very happy with the performance. It matches exactly what I am looking for fast and realible, I am very happy with it. For me, it worth the RM2k I spent on it. Basically, I enjoy the computer smooth and fast performance, and the built-in Intel G31 work good for all my daily need. So, I really don’t need an independent graphic card. My main propose is internet surfing, Microsoft office, some photo editing, facebook gaming and watch DVD movie. Configuration: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (2x3.0GHz 1066FSB 3MB Cache) Asus P5KPL-AM 1TB SATA 2 2x2GB DDR2 800 Dual Channel Logitech Keyboard Mouse Asus 20x/8xDL/14x DVD Ram ![]() ![]() Well, I am going to buy another laptop. I am looking for similar performance as above. Smooth and fast performance, a built-in graphic card is enough. My main propose is still the same, internet surfing, Microsoft office, some photo editing, facebook gaming and watch DVD movie. Please suggest me any notebook that suit my need. But Intel processor only, Intel served me very well for past 5 years, I am happy with it. Budget: RM2k – RM3k |

QUOTE(WoodStock @ Nov 7 2009, 01:55 AM) Hi all. Hello, well i dont think you cant get the exact spec you found in desktop. The processor speed normally up to 2.86 GHZ only, and it definitely will exceed your 3k budget. If you dont mind to wait for 3 weeks and 15 inch laptop, you can go for dell studio 15, but the spec will be 2.2GHZ Core 2 Duo, DDR2 RAM 3GB upgradable to 4GB, it has average graphic card. Lowyat having roadshow now selling this units, it comes with 2.2GHZ Core 2 due, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 14 inch, nvidia Geforce G110M 256MB, free upgrade window 7. The RAM you can easily buy at any lowyat outlets to boost to 4GB running dual-channel mode. But i read reviews about this unit has over heating issues especially when rendering intensive graphic. However, you can reduce it by having cooler mounted. So it depends whether you able to cope with this. Else Add RM300 more to you budget and go for VAIO cw series, build very nice, 3GB DDR3 RAM, 2.2GHZ Core 2 duo, nvidia GT210M graphic card, this units even come with the laptop bag, it does come with pink color, so maybe will suit you. |

Hi guys...
I juz ordered a US SONY VAIO FW-series. But I do not sure about the warranty given in the package. "3 Year Express Ship Service Plan for Notebooks" Can anyone advise me on this?? What I wish to know is the warranty global/international which cover in M'sia?? I have 6 months to upgrade my warranty to 3 yrs, so I wish to make sure it's cover here too. I called to SONYstyle in KL to confirm if the US purchase is covered in here, he told me if it's stated international warranty, then it's covered fully for parts & labour, as local purchase units. But what I see from the warranty is different type from this. I not sure whether they all are the same? Juz to share with u guys, the FW spec I got is: QUOTE - Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P7450 (3M Cache, 2.13 MHz, 1066 MHz) - ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4650 graphics with 512MB dedicated VRAM - Blu-ray Disc™ playback - 320GB SATA Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm) - 2GB (2GBx1) DDR2-SDRAM-800 - 16.4" VAIO Display (1600x900 ……real wide) - Extended Capacity Battery - Genuine Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit Make a guess what's the total value worth if this is available in M'sia with such spec. Added on November 7, 2009, 10:33 pm QUOTE(KoNz3n @ Oct 30 2009, 05:06 AM) Hey guys, im planning to get a Vaio FW for myself and I have a few questions to ask. My XPS M1210 spoil after 26 months! It cost me RM5,454 in year 2007 Apr.1. Does the shop have stock or must i wait a few days 2. How's the product reliability(for those who own it). Im not bothered to get 2 years warranty but my dell XPS broke down after 18 months so I'm quite paranoid now. 3. Is there any special deals for this product now? thanks a lot in advance I juz order a FW from US. It's much cheaper & much higher spec than what u see here. But u muz have connection for this. Otherwise, the shipping gonna charge u USD100 itself. 2nd option is, ask ur fren who work in SONY to buy the laptop for u in SONYstyle. They have employee purchase price! QUOTE(x_goldman @ Nov 6 2009, 04:58 PM) Benq.. hm.. issit reliable ? well no offense, but my view on benq, when it comes to laptop, it looks like not mature yet. BenQ is a reliable brand,However, spare parts is a problem for BenQ and not to mention the amount of time to get back the set when you sent it for RMA. BTW, some pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I saw some bad comments like have to wait very long, parts are very expensive after warranty period...etc, pls share your experience, thanks Just hit back at them by asking back, "Do your laptop need cooling pad or not". Cooling pads shouldn't exist in the market in the first place. It was the design flaws of some incompetent Taiwanese manufacturers that leads to the mushrooming of notebook cooling pad market. Expensive parts? hmm... lets see... acer motherboard costs around rm1k, vaio cr motherboard costs around 900-1k. waiting period very long? some taiwanese brands need to send back their unit back to Taiwan for repair and that could take up months. Vaio takes 1 week usually and sometimes even faster if it was minor problems such as hinge crack, fan problem, etc. Furthermore, VAIO service department is facing a shortage of manpower right now. http://my.jobstreet.com/jobs/2009/10/s/10/923235.htm?fr=J This post has been edited by V12Kompressor: Nov 9 2009, 09:34 AM |

any FW users out thr? I'm considering buying FW or SR perhaps these few weeks.
I just wanna know what users think of the design and build. Cause I've heard quite a lot of people complaining about the "plastic" feel of the material and the not-so-strong hinge. Anyone have that kind of problem? |

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Nov 9 2009, 11:14 PM) I forgot the series. But she bought it somewhere last yr.She sent to Pg Tanjong Tokong SONY repair centre repair for 4x. 1st 3x return after a week+ solving nothing. The 4th time the centre sent to KL for further diagnosis. Ended up she make quite a number of calls to trace her laptop back, as initially SONY personnel said can't track her laptop's whereabout. At the end they got the laptop's location, which in MidValley. Then she got her laptop back after 2weeks plus, the fan prob is solve, but the laptop still sudden shut down after some time (this is the prob she encounter earlier too). So consider prob unsolved. |
