QUOTE(lilwil @ Oct 24 2009, 05:20 PM) to me, like maxizanc mention, apart from processor, the other parts is fine for casual task. tho you certainly can get better spec if opt other than sony, like benq, asus or dell. i would say survey other brand if you wanna get best bang for that price you pay. QUOTE(maxizanc @ Oct 25 2009, 01:16 AM) W series has no solid state drive maxizanc: oh okay :/btw, i dont get why lcd quality on FW53 sucks, doesnt it has similar lcd quality like FW43 and the rest? is it because of it looks dim than the other? thats must be a hint between "VAIO Display" and "VAIO Display Premium" lolz. the only distinguish i can see it between the high end is the resolution and also those naming VAIO Display Premium , vice versa..but if you really compare the lcd quality with Z or TT, it certainly sucks. its just a mediocre quality given to the cheaper "sony price" you pay *sony price = its usually expensive than other brands. |

There's also another addition in the Vaio Display line up. Called the "Vaio Display premium Plus". lol
Last time, the display panel for CS is almost the same with FW43/33 Now the CW1x has better display than FW53 thanks to LED backlight. |

Currently i am using Window 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my FW43. Having no problem so far, just some shortcut button cannot be used. S1, Av Mode, brightness shortcut ( Fn+F5, Fn+F6 ), and Fn+F7. Not sure for MagicGate, SD card and HDMI...

QUOTE(emkay_2020 @ Oct 27 2009, 02:30 PM) anyone tried this:- Well, actually if you are upgrading from Vista to 7 and you aplied for the upgrade through sony-asia, the media kit is from Microsoft. http://www.sony.com.my/support/download/35...?subpage=detail can i use this installer without windows 7 sony cd? can i just install my own windows 7 to my vaio? You can try install your own 7 and then install those installers. Worst outcome is your Vaio will become like nicky0322's FW. Some buttons malfunctioning. |

If you're currently using Windows Vista Ultimate, the 7 Ultimate will cost you about 700-800 bucks. So, you do the maths. QUOTE(kuroda1226 @ Oct 28 2009, 11:52 PM) hey,i buy my sony vaio oversea, but nw the lappy is got problem. already replied on your thread,at UK d..but does the warranty is global??? anyway, only selected model comes with international warranty (every purchase of VAIO X series have this), or purchasing the international warranty locally from official sony style / sony centre or both. Added on October 29, 2009, 1:01 am QUOTE(emkay_2020 @ Oct 28 2009, 01:47 PM) anyone know if i use windows 7 on my vaio , do i need to install vaio smart network to use wireless or i just install wireless drivers? smart wi / network make things easier, tho you can still accessing it via control panel -> mobile pc -> windows mobility centre.both done the same job. so its up to you. but its recommend still to use smart wi / network since you can access not only WLAN, but Bluetooth, LAN, and Modem switch at ease.
