i7 is still expensive right. Wonder who's gonna buy a basic i7 VAIO notebook for the price of at least RM6000??

wahlaueh, punya best the new specs....
i guess the VGN-Z46GD is the same price like the current Z36GD?

for sure the current Z36GD will be sold at a discounted price, like what the guy at that VAIO shop trying to pursuade me to buy their old stock with 2.44GHz speed. plus a backpack & also a vaio pouch...

Video playback is bad and worst is skype video the whole system like gonna hang soon... i have to close everything(browser/msn/music) then only can run skype sweat.gif

FYI, Vaio P1x already discontinued. If want to buy, whether wait for the Vaio P2x to launch (and arrive here) or buy from dealers.

yep, dual flash memory, which cost around 3k ~ 4k (malasia currency). if im not mistaken this model doesnt have blu-ray drive, instead only dvd dual layer drive. but i bet its customizeable for Sony USA CTO.

cant sure of that. the refresh update for malasia kinda unpredictable. but these update prolly around mid june ~ july, though some region already make it order to buy starting this week.

just to add up on refresh update for VAIO FW:
1. Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8700, Supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology
2. ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4650 with 1GB DDR3 Dedicated VRAM up to 2790MB VRAM.
3. 6GB DDR2 (running at 800mhz) RAM up to 8GB DDR2 RAM.

VAIO SR:
1. Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6400, Supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology (author notes: kinda not appealing update. i rather said its sorta like downgrade.)
2. ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4570 with 512 Dedicated DDR3 VRAM up to 2230MB VRAM.
3. 4GB DDR2 (running at 800mhz) RAM up to 8GB DDR2 RAM

minor update refresh for the above model will likely have better storage capacity.

Hey I'm new to this site and I'm looking at buying a new laptop. I already own a Vaio and love it, its served me well over the last 3 years but I think its time I got a new one. Its been really resilient and reliable and I want to buy a new one.
I'm not sure which model i should get though because there are so many haha.
Obviously I'm looking for a laptop that can fulfill all my needs, such as those listed below:

-I'm about to go off to university so ill need it to be fairly light and not too bulky because I don't want to have to carry a brick around with all day to classes.
-I'm also into gaming, not serious hardcore gaming but I do play on a fairly regular basis, such as Empire Total war, which needs quite a decent PC. Therefore i would need a laptop that can handle these games and provide en enjoyable smooth experience.
-Additionally i travel on a regular basis so therefore I also require a fairly long lasting battery, maybe 4 -5 hours.
-Hd space isn't that important however i want a decent graphics card and processor (2.40ghz+)
-Lastly, and least importantly, I want it to look stylish (shouldn't be hard nearly all vaios are tongue.gif).

I've looked at many models but i can't determine which seems to be the one most suited to my needs. I hope that somebody can help me smile.gif.
Thanks a lot.

Vaio CS will be good but it's quite heavy

Vaio TT will suit your "go light" and superior energy saving needs, but it doesn't comes with a graphic card so playing games are limited.

The only current Vaio that should be able to satisfy all your needs is the Z. Weight is somewhere between CS and TT, has a very powerful processor, tons of ram and tons of HDD and most important, there's a speed/stamina switch. Be prepared to fork out at least 8k though.

or you could go with the high end SR if you're fine with ATi graphics.
