Hi fellow FW users...

Have u tried out ur lappy with running only battery?

How long can ur FW lasts? Under what circumstances, i.e: what brightness, what program running, watching movie using ROM... etc.

Do mention ur battery size too (std/ext)

I created the recovery discs using 2 DVDr.

It's ok to use ur lappy right away, as I heard the recovery data are stored in the HDD inside.
Pls correct me if I'm wrong~~

Good for you. Just dont do anything stupid with your laptop then.

Recovery discs is used when you suffers system instability, etc and you want to return your laptop to the original factory condition (the condition when you've just bought your laptop). In simple terms, it is a kind of "REFORMAT PC".

Its OK if you didn't create the disc. But when problem occurs in the future and your model have been phased out, you'll have to send it to the service center and wait for XX days just to perform System Recovery. With the disc, you an perform the system recovery by yourself and it only takes about 3-4 hours.

Any DVD-R will do. Dont put DVD-RW. It'll reject it. It wont burn.

Yeah. Thats right. It has all the information such as your OS, software, drivers. This means that if you wanna reformat the laptop just press F10 and if it doesnt work, Recovery Disc will be very important.

Fingers crossed nothing will happen. I am pretty confident. As V12Kompressor said, just dont do anything stupid with your laptop then... biggrin.gif

I tried mine on Sunday actually.
With the standard lithium ion 6 cell battery I could fetch about 1hr 30 mins playing Facebook and Football Manager 2010.
When its fully charged it indicates 2hrs 28 mins.
Gonna try again with minimal usage.

No issue, thanks for ur concern.

I juz wondering if my battery serves me long enuff with 4hrs+

On full charge, it shows 5hrs+

I never tried drain off fully on the battery b4. But oftenly it lasts 2hrs+ for my Internet surfing outside without the cord, and it consume about 40% of the charge.

By the way, I using an extended battery for my FW.

Something I read in Internet, never let ur battery on full charge when u not using it, or planning for long storage. Best storage is at 40% charge.

And it's no harm for us to charge it again without fully drain off. It's ok for LiIon battery to do that. But advisable to fully discharge it once a month so something inside there will have a reset. I not sure what it is anyway.

Now at home I fully run on power & detach battery. At outside, I fully run on batt. Coz the batt is 500gram already, no space for the cord d~

Pls correct me again if I got this wrong...
