I have some questions regarding rm99 unlimited data package. Is it possible to have 2 sim but with one number? I want to be able to use the data with my iphone or when I bring my laptop outside, I can slot another SIM into USB modem and use it with my laptop?

doesnt need to "slot another SIM into USB modem and use it with my laptop" anymore .... 3GS comes with tethering / wireless internet router function ....

any devices need internet access just connect (wireless/bluetooth/usb) to your iphone with unlimited data package brows.gif

this is cool part about iphone rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

Well you risk shorten your iphone 3g battery life doing that. It might be alright once in a while but I guess i'll be more comfortable using USB modem.

Very simply, you can't.

i posted in another thread. i am with maxis postpaid for 10 yrs+.
all it took for me to change to prepaid, AND MAINTAIN my number, is to sign a form over the counter.
wat top up? just activate Active365 package, pay rm30+ , pay another rm30 for top up, and u can forget about the validity period for the next 1 year!  cool2.gif

beats the idata rm30/monthly anytime  thumbup.gif
*
Are you saying RM30 will be able to last you for one whole year's of calls? Don't forget, it's only the data(500mb) which is free. The other thing is charges under pre-paid is higher than post-paid's.

Lastly, I was illustrating for those pondering, to take into consideration only.

to charge up iphone battery simply by any usb devices ... no problem la tongue.gif

"using usb modem"? ya ... if u r rich enough to affort another rm99 monthly bill ... but as i mentioned before, since i already have unlimited data package with 3gs, what for wasted the function of 3gs!? should maximise the 3gs features! brows.gif

no matter how u save battery on using iphone ... the default iphone battery is memang not enough for 1 full day use (calls,sms,music,internet,game,etc) doh.gif doh.gif

every night still have to charge it ... whistling.gif whistling.gif

You didn't read my post clearly. I'm asking whether it's possible to use 2 sims but both sim has the same number. Meaning, both Iphone 3Gs and the USB modem share the same unlimited data package.

@z3171600,
Yes it is possible; U just need to activate multi-SIM feature with Maxis.

PeeEl,

agree with u "The other thing is charges under pre-paid is higher than post-paid's.".
the thing is , i mostly sms and seldom call out. so prepaid will be the best for me, especially after i activate active10, 1sens/sms. no plan can beat tat. (unless free sms between family, tat is another plan, another calculation)

For those who call out alot, just go for iData plan, but rm50 extra everymonth for 500mb on top of ur value plan... i still consider not worth it la. sweat.gif

line tink, i always calculate the overall cost of ownership of the phone. for iData2, it will be 12xrm50 (assume 1 yr contract = RM600) while u only save rm400 for the phone. the value plan no need to calculate, coz u will also be paying tat everymonth if using another phone.

@maryjane9996,
The biggest difference is in the speed. If U haf the budget go for the i3GS instead of the i3G. I upgraded from the i3G to i3GS and have had no regrets biggrin.gif

Just to add a few. It also has voice control, improved camera (2mp to 3mp), and supposedly better battery life. I din own an iphone before, so i'm not sure this speed is faster, but so far so good.

@maryjane9996,
I'm not sure about the USD versions and if U need to sign a contract but you're right, if it's USD399 it's a good price. The only thing U'll haf to bear with is that U'll have to unlock ur i3GS.

yup. apple has deduced the recent discoloration of the 3G S is attributed to dodgy, tight third party cases.

hence whenever possible avoid those to encourage the release of heat.
