Just one quick question, is there any possibility to determine  whether the

phone is refurbish or not?
*
AFAIK, most if not all refurbished units are from the States. Therefore, by checking the Part/Model No., you would know.

Anyone, please let me know if I stand corrected.

tink, u r soooooooo correct!  rclxms.gif
no way better to put it : it's penny wise pound foolish kinda scenario
take the monthly payment u need to pay, x12 or 24 based on the contract, THEN plus sms price, now compare that to the $$ saved from the phone. izzit worth it?
u might argue about the free talk time in the ivalue package. if tat's the case, u still need to pay for the sms.
u might argue iData plan, but u pay ur monthly commitment, on top of that, plus rm30 for 250mb?? crap! dont forget to x 12 foir contract, and no savings on phone price (assuming rm30 data package)
i will still think prepaid is the way to go: no contract, 500mb free, active10 free (value packages need to pay rm8 to activate), sms almost same price to other operator (who can beat 1sen/sms to 10 maxis numbers?)
*
Can I just say that if one is already on a prepaid plan, there's no issue. What if one is on postpaid? He/she must inform all and sundry the change of number, if he/she intends to use it or if the prepaid no. is kept for just the data usage since 500mb is free, he/she must live with the hassle of changing the SIM card (and changing it on an iPhone is not the simplest thing in the world) if he/she doesn't own another phone, not to mention the top up charges which if I am not mistaken, is mandatory within a certain period.

The above may be frivolous but something to consider nonetheless.

I have some questions regarding rm99 unlimited data package. Is it possible to have 2 sim but with one number? I want to be able to use the data with my iphone or when I bring my laptop outside, I can slot another SIM into USB modem and use it with my laptop?
*
Very simply, you can't.

i posted in another thread. i am with maxis postpaid for 10 yrs+.
all it took for me to change to prepaid, AND MAINTAIN my number, is to sign a form over the counter.
wat top up? just activate Active365 package, pay rm30+ , pay another rm30 for top up, and u can forget about the validity period for the next 1 year!  cool2.gif

beats the idata rm30/monthly anytime  thumbup.gif
*
Are you saying RM30 will be able to last you for one whole year's of calls? Don't forget, it's only the data(500mb) which is free. The other thing is charges under pre-paid is higher than post-paid's.

Lastly, I was illustrating for those pondering, to take into consideration only.

iPhones from Singapore are all officially unlocked and therefore can be used with any SIM.

hi gal (you know who am i, but please don't disclose it here; as i wanna remain anonymous here  nod.gif  nod.gif  nod.gif )

getting from maxis is a little tricky because maxis has a tendency to sell their iPhones on a contract (they tend to reap more by doing so) as opposed to outright.

however, as far as i know, you can get the 8GB 3G (not 3GS) variant without much hassle.

you also get from singapore (but again, i don't think that they sell them without contract)

having said that, you can off course, get them from those third party mobile phone stores (which will rip your wallet off or worst; without warranty)

you can definitely try your luck, popping into maxis stores around the country and ask if they are willing to sell them outright (if they do, then it is your lucky day)

both singaporean and malaysian (maxis) bound units are unlocked by nature and hence you can of course use them with a DiGi simcard, without any complications
*
Nok, allow me to add that Maxis is now selling the iPhones outright without contracts, probably due to lesser demand in view of the imminent new model coming soon. But the 32gb is in abundant with 16gb available in certain outlets only.

no worries pat.

do you mind naming a few places with such offer (to your best knowledge) around the klang valley area for my friend?

much appreciated.

From what I gather, Sunway Pyramid, Pavilion, Mid Valley/Gardens and of course KLCC. Suggest your friend calls up first though before making the trip.

thanks PeeEl and Nokia2003 for the info =)

but i think they won't be selling me the iPhone 3Gs right?
If i were to get, of course i would prefer to get the latest model for my mum..

but i will check it out when I go shopping for cny !
*
No...they are selling the i3GS and that's what we are talking about. Another suggestion, don't procrastinate too long. Though I said earlier that demand has dwindled, the present stock may deplete quite quickly.
