i'm currently a iphone 2g user, now planning to get 3G S model from Maxis/reseller on July time. But after I gone thru the entire maxis rate plans, still not comfortable with their pricing / usage / etc.

my idea is:

1. get the iphone 3G S from Maxis / reseller
2. switch my maxis postpaid number to Celcom postpaid account(MNP service)
3. subscribe to Celcom D99 package (RM99 per month unlimited data usage)
4. Do internet tethering via the iphone 3G S with my laptop (can cancel my maxis broadband account somemore, save another rm88 per month ).

Because even maxis iphone rm99 package still have 3GB data usage limitation.

any comment?

ya, what i mean is either get the iphone with hotline package or just get from internet reseller .... skip the maxis contract penalty charge

so using celcom with unlimited data package is better idea right?

for me, since maxis already selling 3g/3gs unlocked version ... what for still go and jailbreak it?

because of the cydia/installer!!?? ... app store are much more better than both of them

totally agree! that's why i still dont understand why people still subscribe to their ivalue/idata plan?

just buy the iphone only with RRP price ... then subscribe to the rm99 unlimited data package ... siap pasang!

doesnt need to "slot another SIM into USB modem and use it with my laptop" anymore .... 3GS comes with tethering / wireless internet router function ....

any devices need internet access just connect (wireless/bluetooth/usb) to your iphone with unlimited data package

this is cool part about iphone

to charge up iphone battery simply by any usb devices ... no problem la

"using usb modem"? ya ... if u r rich enough to affort another rm99 monthly bill ... but as i mentioned before, since i already have unlimited data package with 3gs, what for wasted the function of 3gs!? should maximise the 3gs features!

no matter how u save battery on using iphone ... the default iphone battery is memang not enough for 1 full day use (calls,sms,music,internet,game,etc)

every night still have to charge it ...
