E72 look interesting. 5MP, possible 3mm earphone jack and seem like higher resolution screen.

Ya, it also have 3.5mm headphone jack.

wow...the E72 looks freaking awesome..

i hope it doesn't come out soon else my hand sure gatal wanna change now it functions even more like a blackberry with the trackpad.

They maintained the E71 form factor Couldn't see any much difference in comparison to E71 yet..

some info i got from the net.

1. optical trackpad
2. 5MP camera
3. Symbian OS S60 fp2


which is quite good a step for improvement. but lets hope there's more additional stuffs when Nokia officially announces the phone.

ARgGggg....my E71 not even 1 month old and now E72 making my hands itchy.

sifu here..my phone now cannot receive my gmail..last time i set the email to retrieve every hour...
i went to maxis there and ask, they set my gmail now can receive, but i need to connect in order to check the mail..
it like i need to connect to check whether got new mail...whereas last time it will prompt a message saying that it has new mail...
how shld i do?

The latest ver for garmin xt is 5.00.50

why they releasing new 5MP when the current 3.2MP still no good..no fix aa?

double check your Automatic Retrieval settings.

make sure that E-mail retrieval is enabled. but you will have to fix an Access point to use for incoming e-mail.

if ur not too sure, let me know i'll guide you to this settings. hope i can help

well, the 3.2MP can do so much....no fix can allow it to have more pixels. so with the 5MP, it's definitely an improvement on the hardware.

it's like saying you modify a 2.0 litre engine, you're ought to reach a maximum where you cannot go anymore. so now they put on a big V12 10 litre engine. you know it's gonna be better than the 2.0 litre engine right?

no, what i meant was (in ur terms) if ur 2.0L engine still not good enough (not decent enough for a 2.0L performance), fix it first b4 u come up with new car with a V12 10L engine..cheers..

hey anybody used the garmin XT location message..tried playing around with it but it seems the only way to actually get the message is when garmin xt is opened, am i right? anybody else tried playing with this..its cool by the way..

ohHhh...now i know what you mean, sorry my bad. hehehe, well i guess Nokia has not much expertise in camera's as their phones even though 5MP still loses out to SE's lower MP camera. so they take the shortcut of putting in a larger engine instead of fine tuning the 2.0L

whats with the garmin MXT location message? what does it do? i'll go test it out later.

ya using it, no issue.. battery working fine, no background service.. smooth sailing

Added on June 15, 2009, 1:37 pmcoz it is a marketing gimmick.. people always thinks tat with higher pixel u shoot better pic, wat is important is the lens and sensor, there is no use of installing a v12 when ur 2.0l car can overtake a v12 right? jus tat ur 2.0l need some fine turning to do it..

no probs exactly my point, SE cybershot easily beats nokia's camera..and there's so much u can do still..

The garmin xt location message is by sending the location message to friends with gps phone and garmin, they can track u with navigation directly to ur location...its like no need to "u find this building, then opposite that building there's a small cafe, i'm in the cafe which is 2 blocks away" sort of thing...hehehe get it? really cool feature..it shows ur exact gps location at time of sending the msg..local sms charges apply

I almost bought the E71 but the bad camera killed the deal. Hopefully the E72 improves it.

the E series phone was never meant to be a camera phone, hence the camera is just a bonus. i think this is the same for most business phones. so far great camera phones are like those from SE. and they're amazing when it comes to taking pictures. but as for receiving emails and browsing the web? i'm not too sure abt that.

the main reason why i bought the E71 is so that i can serve me as my everyday usage phone as well as a business phone where i can always receive my emails on the go. and it does serve me well and i got no complains abt that.

well, lets hope the E72 will be better than the E71 and won't be out say in another year? hahahaha

Nokia E72

The Nokia E72 extends the functionality of its forerunner with a 5 megapixel camera, HSUPA (up to 2Mbps) and faster HSDPA (Up to 10Mbps). The UMTS support has upgraded and now the E72 will come with two tri-band versions (850/1900/2100 Mhz and 900/1900/2100 Mhz). The best part is that the Nokia E72 has managed to maintain the slim 10mm waistline of its predecessor, despite the added goodies.

Among the other goodies on board the new Nokia E72 is the new optical Navi key, which serves as an optical trackpad for going through menus and applications and the electronic compass that enhances the GPS navigation experience.

The rest of the Nokia E72 features are pretty much on par with the E71 - S60 3rd edition UI, a 2.4" QVGA landscape screen, microSD card slot and FM radio. On the connectivity end we've got WLAN, A-GPS, FM radio and quad-band GSM. There's also a 3.5mm standard audio jack, Bluetooh and USB onboard.

The Nokia E72 is expected to begin shipping late in the third quarter of 2009. It will be available in Zodium Black, Metal Grey and Topaz Brown. It expected price tag is 350 euro before subsidies and taxes with a 4GB microSD card in the box and a lifetime license for Nokia messaging.

i will still love my e71 very much..no e72 can replace it, sucky camera or not

Its going to be darn expensive when it launches IMO. I'm still getting my E71 tonight even with this piece of news. Late 3rd quarter means around September which means 3 months more from now approx. and probably another 6 months till its price drops to a reasonalbe level. By the time I'd have used my E71 for 9 months if I buy it tonight. Still okay for me IMO

I guess by the time the launch this in Malaysia should be sometime before xmas around RM1.7-1.8K
