i was using cross cable too. since u said got connection already to internet, then its not a setup problem. the question now is why the disconnection. if u browse using pc do u get the same disconnection? btw, the reason i changed to streamyx is coz is also get disconnection about every 30min of play. but the main reason is because of the lag. it lags so much is unplayable. but some people say it depends on location.

If I browse using PC, no such problem. Only when downloading using PS3 on the game patches. cry.gif

leo, i suggest u use proxy setting. then can download the patch using pc, that way u dont need ps3 to download the patches. ive done this to update firmware n game patches. only one game that i have couldnt use this way, Little Big Planet. other game so far no problem. download from PSN also use this way. very good.

Can teach me how to do this? I am a noob in this sort of stuff. Appreciate it very much. notworthy.gif

this i take from PS3 FAQ for beginner topic. for me i use 2nd proxy apps.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=31844445

U need;

1. .NET framework 1.1 - if this doesnt work, use latest like 2.0 or 3.5 - .net framework

2. proxyserver app - ps3 proxy app

tutorial for proxy

then set ur ps3 to use proxy. and do remember, u need to run the proxy app first before connecting the ps3 to internet.

try it first, if not clear, ill explain again.

I've successfully done it on Windows 7 using Maxis wireless broadband, connected to my PS3 via rj45 LAN cable. Initially I tried using my HSDPA phone, but that has a max speed of 3.6 mbps and I could not do any online gaming whatsoever although I could sign in to PSN. But then I borrowed my friend's Huawei E1762 modem (7.2 mbps) and I could play Warhawk and Fat Princess without any lag whatsoever. It played like a dream. Data downloaded during an online game was approximately at a rate of 0.01 mb per second, which would come up to about 36 mb per hour.

I've been reading through this entire thread and noticed that some are having problem with NAT type 3 connection.

I recently bought a TP Link 3G router to connect my 3G USB Modem (CSL model provided by Celcom) for my PS3.

I've been trying DMZ to Port Forwarding methods (searched all over the net) to get Type 2 but lucked out.

Does this mean its ISP related? Would cross cable connection method to a Windows PC help?

my wired Streamyx is giving me a hard time... i cannot auto connect to internet via PC.. i need to MANUALLY connect everytime i need to go online...

and my ps3 could not go online as well due to the MANUAL Connection problem... before this everything was as EASY as plug n play...

is there a solution to this or is there something wrong somewhere in my set up?
is there any other easy to use ISP compatible with ps3... please advise

About Streamyx auto-connect, you need to go into your modem settings page login as admin and configure it. Got nothing to do with the PS3.

Im using Maxis Broadband for my PS3 to online also, but not yet online fight or game. only use PSN normally.
Im using Huawei E220 (upgrade to 7.2 mpbs firmware) with with Aztech w550-3G router.
I connect PS3 and router using wi fi bcoz my router on upstair near window (my home downstair cant get 3G coverage of maxis), my ps3 at downstair

this is what i tested yesterday night..............it give averange download speed of 2.3 to 2.9 for 3 time test.

what is important is your ping! Streamyx ping to its own server in Seri kembangan is about 50ms from east malaysia. from my experience with celcom broadband, the ping is >300ms on a good day. >400ms on a normal day. but fyi 125kbps upload speed is also slow. I played Bad company 2 on about 130kbps, and i get teleportation issues.

mobile broadband is not optimal for high demand online games.

afeeq, u use streamyx, then connect ps3 directly to modem la..no need to on pc.. unless ur modem configured as modem only and not as router..
