Help! I tried to change my password recently but they told me something had failed. Couldn't login to my mbp after that. Not with the new password or the old password. Tried to restart and hold ctrl R function but didn't work either. What can I do?

Depends which OS X version you running, you can follow this guide to reset password:

Hello, I have a 15" Macbook and my friend dropped it from just about 1 feet height and it started to have problem on the display after about 2 weeks, then I went to the Mac city, they charged me about 3k to change the mother board, the problem was solved for the display. But now I am having a start up issue, it stopped at the Apple logo with loading bar, and it turns off after that. I am thinking if it was the hard drive because I stared the checking with Command +R and it sometime says that it's not able to be repaired, sometime it says appear to be OK. So and suggestions to fix this?
*
Just replace the HDD is confirm it's faulty. Only take < 1 hour to get it done.

I have Macbook pro Retina Mid and I am having sound cracking issues and the noise is getting worse day by day.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If speakers crack there's no cure unless you replace them.

I'm using a late 2010 Macbook air.  I am on Yosemite but hating it.  How do I go back to Snow Leopard?  I've searched a LOT but can't find any solutions, because I don't have the original install disk (It was 5 years ago).  Can someone please, please help me solve this...
*
You will need to get the Mavericks installer online. You should able to re-download it from App Store under the purchased section if you've downloaded it before. Then create a USB installer from it. There are app that help you to make the USB drive.

But the crucial part is your files. You will need to have a Time Machines backup right before you upgrade to Yosemite.
Else you have to manual transfer your files over after downgrade.

It should work. But to play safe, call AppleCare to confirm: 1800-80-3638.

toothpick, toothbrush, any tools that come handy. Peeling and dirt is normal, what we talking here is larger object that obstruct the connection.

Hi Guys, I am having problem with my iMac HDD fan. If I run something requiring high graphic usage like Video Rendering or Gaming, it will make a noisy fan sound and then the performance will drop drastically.

I have done the Hardware test and the error msg confirms it is the HDD Fan.

Can anybody share to me, what is the price of repairing it at Apple or whether i shall opt to repair it myself?

Which year model is yours?
What error you get? Fan spinning below speed?

hi all,

my fiancee has a 2010 or 2011 MBP and it is super slow, can hardly run word, safari, chrome without having to wait for a minute or so.

we just sent it for dust cleaning few months back and we suspect that this happen after installing OS X. Is there common issue we can easily fix? I'm an apple newbie and have never touched it more than once.
*
Cleaning shouldn't affect the unit performance, in fact, if done right it should run smoother.
If you have older model and you install the latest Yosemite, slow is expected, else there might be other issue with your unit. You can try performing simple troubleshooting like repair disk and repair permission, also check if you have enough free space.

hi.

wanna ask my Mac was struck by lightning last year and the unit is dead. i tried sending it for repair at 3rd party place and they suggested to replace the whole logic board for rm2k (refurbished board).

do u know whether Apple will charge the same or not? rm2k is so expensive might as well i buy a new mac mini.
*
In general logic board is not cheap. Apple replacement is subjective whether they still accept your old board as exchange. Price can be RM2k+ up to 3-4k depends on model, spec with or without exchange.

Hey guys, I'm using a MBPr 13' 2015 model.

Sometimes it automatically shuts down, and doesn't turn back on unless I plug in the charger. It isn't due to low battery as well. Last it happened was at 52% charge.

Any idea what's going on? Could resetting the SMC or VPAM help?
*
When that happen, did you plugged in anything else? Specifically some 3rd party USB cable/ device.

Just anyone !

I have a MBA 2013 - which have two OS : OS Yosemite and Windows 7 Pro( Installed via Bootcamp)  .

The other day ,  I tried to update Windows 7 to Windows 10 , everything was fine , until it's feel heavy plus I dont like the looks so I revert back to Windows 7 . It works but the keyboard and mousepad do not function at all , like seriously , I cannot even after multiple time login / log off , plugin every keyboard in every port , not at all , enter the bios to alter stuff , doesnt seem to work thus I fed up , I start yosemite , I remove the windows 7 boot camp via Utility desk and I thought might as well recover those windows 7 size to use it for yosemite , so I delete everything , try to install mac from scratch , it brings me to apple.com/support -2002F . help .

Hello. Just bought a brand new macbook pro retina 13.used for 3-4 months only.

When i used imovie to edit videos, there was some serious fan noise coming out of the device. This worried me a bit. Is this normal?

Im a serious multitasker so i run many apps at one time. Suddenly it forces shut and restarted. Wrote something like the first post on this thread. I read the first aid and did the disk utility, it says the disk is fine. I haven't bought any antivirus yet and i download a lot of pdf n music from online, could this be the cause?

And wht type of antivirus suitable to buy thts not gonna burn my purse?

Thank you so so much!
*
Looks like you've pushed your Mac too hard that it overheat and rebooted. Video editing are resource hungry task. If you doing video editing, try to quit other task and ensure the working environment have good air flow, better if air conditioned. It's normal when you run heavy processing work that the Mac heat up. That will lead to system fan spin up, hence the loud noise. If that still doesn't cool the Mac down enough, the system will shutdown or reboot to prevent any hardware failure. In short, that is normal.

But if you face that frequently even not doing anything much, we suggest you send your unit to Apple Authorised Service Centre for a check.

Anyone with a macbook air? May i ask if the head of your magsafe charger gets hot while charging?
*
It will get warm where it's fine if you touch it.
If it's burning hot that you dare not touch then it's not normal. Please get both the charger and Mac a good check it could be a sign something not right.

my macbook air 13 early 2015 has loose hinge issue on screen...send to repair they wont let it repair under warranty coz some dent...are they have right to take back their warrant if got dent issue?
*
Dent = physical damage = cause by user = not a manufacture defect.

Warranty is to cover manufacture defects only. Unless you have a solid proof whatever defects you facing are not caused by the impact.
