In normal situation Apple ain't gonna cover it under warranty. But you can try your luck by calling AppleCare, they will advice you what to do. All the best.

Generally in bootcamp, many of the sensor parameters are not natively supported. It's recommended you install temp & fan speed monitor app to overcome this.

Changing heatsink won't help. You still get back the heatsink that looks and works similar. You should demand them to check about the heat issue.

hi mr wei,

i have a Macbook Pro 13" 2010, my problem is, my macbook is lag/hang all the time since few weeks ago. i'm not sure what's the problem. the "cycling rainbow color" kept on appearing when i open a file or do any actions. i can't open any software nor any applications, except some apps like mozilla and any other lightweight apps and files. i cant open chrome, iphoto, itunes, and so on. is it because of the harddisk problem or what? is this normal for macbook?

really need your answer ASAP.

Backup your data if you haven't done so.
Check if your drive have enough free space.
Run some check on the HDD with disk utility or other app as suggested.
If you have the knowledge, you could try reformat and reinstall the OS, after you done the backup.
If after reinstall the problem came back, it's best you replace the drive.

i got a problem with my new RMBP, i close the lit for sleep mode, then when i open the lit, it doesnt start up properly..

Is like when i open the lit and press the power button or any button,
The screen will show the cursor, but just for one or 2 sec, then it off back, the keyboard light will come up, then off in a second.

i have to force restart the notebook to get it work

Can this problem be fix? can i get a unit replace for this problem? hardware problem?

Makesure you've done all the updates from Apple (firmware if any). Try reset SMC, google how to do it. Lastly send back to service center and get it check.

Just send it back for claim. No need to bring your iMac, just have the iMac serial number with you.

At the moment you can enable virtual keyboard to overcome the spacebar issue. http://gigaom.com/2008/09/24/mac-101-get-a...eyboard-in-osx/ (In 10.8 "International" is known as "Language and Text").

Few things you could do:
- replace the hard drive, install fresh OS and recover data from the old drive.
- install fresh OS to external drive and boot from it, then recover your data, then attempt format and reinstall OS, if fail, you still need to replace the faulty drive.
- get another Mac and boot you Mac into target disk mode then use the second Mac to reinstall/ recover.

Not sure how to perform any of those steps? Check google. Still lost? Pay someone to do it.

Sounds like hardware issue. There's nothing much end user can do. Sometime the display might come back after several try. But not always.

My 2009 MacBook Pro had a "no wifi hardware installed" issue. Tried all the resetting/installing the os but couldn't fix it. Any idea how much is it to fix this problem ? Thanks
*
Could be defective Airport card. Very common for this model. Only a proper troubleshooting can pinpoint the issue.

Usually it's cause by rapid recharging, rapid temperature changes and long storage of the battery with low or no charges left. You have to know how much charge cycle you having, if the number is high this is normal for the battery life to decrease.

Call AppleCare and fight for the replacement. It is still chemical inside the battery and there are no sure way to tell what's happening inside, all we can do is speculate & estimate.

When I do that, my macbook shows it has 56% of battery and with the warning sign service battery.

Help please.

Something wrong with your charger or the DC-in board. Try another charger/ plug and see. Else send to service.

I have a Macbook (white, 4-5 years old).

It was used in the office for 2-3 months and thereafter was just kept in the house.

Now, it cannot start. Took it to Apple Specialist Centre at E-Curve. They want rm150 just to check it. And if its the logic board (their suspicion), it will cost around rm1500).

Can anyone here help me fix this? I don't mind paying for repairs but rm150 just to take a look seems unreasonable to me.

Thanks.
*
We are not sure how other center works. For us, if its something simple like minor software tweak or physical inspection (without take apart), we can just close one eye. But if we are talking about a total dead unit that can't turn on. Hours gonna be spent by taking it apart and test components one by one. It's definitely not as simple as "take a look", we call it a diagnosis for a reason. Sometimes the diagnose took much more effort than the repair. Not charging it or charging it cheaper seems unreasonable to us.

Quick question.
I have a Mac Pro 3.1 (2008)
Can I send the stock RAM to Kingston for RMA, since it is from Kingston? I'm assuming that it comes with lifetime warranty..
*
Stock RAM from Kingston? That's rare, we haven't seen that much after PPC era. Anyway, OEM parts are bind by the assembler warranty, not by the original maker. Like HDD, LCD, graphic card. You'll go back to Apple not western digital or seagate. But you can always try check with Kingston, they have online RMA system.

Yup, 2 sticks Kingston (2GB x 2) and another 2 Hynix (1GB x 2), bought the Mac Pro at Machines.
The whole system is out of warranty so I guess I'll just try my luck with Kingston.
Thanks!
*
In that case the Kingston is not OEM, those are added after market. Stock should be the Hynix only.
