If still in warranty send to service centre.
There are 4pin on USB, supplying power is one thing, getting data connection is another thing. Have you try powering the USB drive with a Y cable via external power source and see it recognise?

Check if your fan is working.

Call AppleCare and lodge a lost report. Inform local service center/ reseller about your unit. Also report on the forum. But chances of recovery are usually slim.

hei guys, my MBA 2013 128GB SSD write speed os only around 290MB - 310MB.. is that normal? i've seend many youtube videos and review articels and their 128gb SSD can go around 400++
i know 256GB can go 600++ write speed...
my read speed is normal, 700++

and there is a cracking sound when u take in and out of the bag(when u hold in the middle and let it go)

and when i bought it, the guys at apple say i can only check for dents.. not scratches... and just open the wrapper, i saw a scratch already!! i was like WTH!!!! then i was like forget it, since they say scratches will not be covered... but till now, it really annoys me... like since day one, its scratched already...

what do u think if i bring to the apple centre somewhere midvalley there? what they goona do?

and anyone have any of these prob before?

Hi, my white 2009 macbook seems like to auto shutdown. After the startup tone, then the screen goes black. Sent to imalaysian and they said lcd problem. Sometimes can see the ? sign but very2 blur and need to use torchlight to see.

Anybody has been facing the same issue? It is true the problem is the lcd? Thanks for the help.
*
Did the screen come on at all? What if you hold the option key right after power on? Did you see the boot volume?

It's just a reminder that your battery life is degrading. In later stage it will show "Replace soon" then "Replace now". Until you replace the battery, the msg will stay.

I found that my current Mountain Lion lag bapak giler .

Hmm... maybe yours is isolated case?
10.9 is slower on login. Otherwise it's more or less like 10.8.
After 10.9.1 it seems much better.

I have a Macbook Pro 15-inch, early 2011 model. I'm having some issues, it will suddenly hang and the screen is distorted with vertical lines on the screen. Noticed this usually happens when running more intensive apps (or many apps at the same time). Then when I hard reboot, I'll see the grey start up screen and that will also be covered with many vertical lines (and distortion on the apple logo). After power on and off a few times then it'll boot properly.

Also noticed some black powder coming out from inside.
*
Very common fault on all 2011 model (15 & 17) that have dual graphics. Be aware if you keep hard reboot your Mac, your OS might corrupt at one point.
The powder are non related.

So recently I spilled some water on my early 2011 Macbook Pro and I sent the laptop for repair because I couldn't turn it on. The repair guy told me that it would cost around 1300MYR to repair the motherboard and replace the keyboard. The water only spilled a little a the left side so the harddisk is safe. So my question is, do you think the price is okay or should I try sending my laptop to another place?
*
What size is your unit?
Keyboard replacement maybe will cost around RM400-500.
Did they mentioned what part on the logic board is faulty/ need repair? Did they show you proof that which part of the keyboard is faulty?
If you have doubt, it won't hurt to send to other place for second diagnosis.

Just loan a working charger to test. No friend with a MacBook then just drop by any reseller. They should have plenty charger on display unit.

Files remain same. Doesn't matter where you copy them from, so long you did no alteration. But Mac OS X have an option to hide file extension, and if transfer to PC, they might appear as unknown file without extension, but if you know what file they are, just add the extension accordingly.

What problem? If graphic components issue is not related to software, so reformat won't help.

Have no experience with 3D projection. I presume it depends highly on what media & player you using.

@unpronounciable
First thing, after a liquid spill and try to turn it on and charge it is the worst thing you can do. Next time, unplug the battery and perform cleaning or send to service immediately. We was told done Service Center will reject any unit with liquid damage. No comment on what they've done for you or not. But you should send to another place for checking.

Check if you have enough free space. Else you might want to reformat and start from scratch.

Hi Sifu,

My MacBook Pro starts to act strangely after updated to the latest OS X.

The keyboard is typing all the Greek symbols instead of English, even I have chosen the English/U.S option at the system preference.
When I click on to the next page when in a website under safari, the page won't show up, but it will be downloaded at the 'download' application.
Can someone help me please?
*
Try perform repair permission, else you might have to do an erase and reinstall.
