Depend which type of card also. If Apple one, you simply pull the drve out. You will lost you RAID and have to rebuilt hence loosing your datas. If you want hot swap. Get Drobo.

QUOTE(g r a p e k e y @ Jun 29 2010, 10:17 PM) Hi people! thanks for looking into this matter. I'm a lil new to iMac here. If you are using CS5 and just updated to 10.6.4 read this:My company's iMac often encounter crash files whenever I'm using AI, PS, ID, AE, DW, FL, PR, even when I'm using the famous safari. Am not sure if this is coming from the softwares as all the softwares are original and thus, the installation was fine and everything else was crystal not until 2 months after starting from beginning of this month. Another thing is, the magic mouse consumes battery a lot. More or less estimating 1 month 4 batteries gone. lol .. Anyone encounter situations like this too? come share your experience. Thanks.. =) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...tart=0&tstart=0 For Safari, try to do a reset. Check of the crash happen of specific site or specific things you are doing. Magic Mouse do suck battery like many has indicated. If you are using it for work consider switching to rechargeable cell or just get a cabled mouse. |

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Jul 7 2010, 01:16 PM) My Mac Mini (year 2008) is unable to pass the booting sequence. Once power on, it will go to the Apple Logo and the clockwork then will shut down by itself. I have tried the 'C' and 'D' commands when powering up without any success. I have the original Mac OS X install disc but looks like the Mac Mini won't recognize it although the disc is perfectly fine (tested it on my Macbook). Any suggestions ? I need to be sure if it's the HDD is faulty. Did you just install the RAM?I press the 'option' while staring up and it shows only the main harddisk as boot volume although i inserted the install disc I was wondering if the ram could be the problem ? |

Wear and tear are usually not covered. But it's also highly subjective. You should speak to AppleCare team and see if they willing to help.

Maybe they still do at that region. I'm not representing them. So you better find out strait from them. I only know they've closed down their retails and service in klang valley.

Try different password or different security option. Some router are known to have issue with Mac. You have to keep trying. A few thing you could try:
- Different channel. - Different SSID. - Different security. |

QUOTE(jayelleenelial @ Aug 21 2010, 10:07 PM) For a couple of times, my macbook pro has been hanging with the beachball going on and on. I would then hold down the power button and then turn the computer on again. You need to boot the Apple Hardware Test DVD. Then perform the test and see any error. If no error then you boot the OSX installer, start Disk Utility and do a repair as well as repair permission. Now, I can't even get the computer to load pass the grey screen with the apple logo and the loading wheel at the bottom. Have I fried my macbook? QUOTE(tr4657 @ Aug 22 2010, 04:18 AM) Guys, I need some pointers from all... A DVD disc stucked in my slot-in Macbook A1278 Unibody 13". Attempts to take the disc out is no-go. So, I am thinking of getting a new replacement drive for my Macbook... Anyone can help me getting it by not visiting the Service Center? Thanks... What have you done by "attempt taking the disc out"?This post has been edited by wei: Aug 22 2010, 12:46 PM |

TS, If you are using the 3pin head for the charger, change to the long 3 pin cable. It might help.

The Battery and Charger test utility will only verify if the tested component are in good shape. They usually based on 2 things to honor a claim:
- how long since purchased. Battery within 12 months have a good chance. More than that, it's very hard. But can try. - charge cycle vs remaining capacity. Anything over 300 cycle it will categorized as exhausted. Or over usage. That's the guideline. But then again it depends on condition also. So speak wisely when you call AppleCare. They do regulate, unlike the PPC days. But Apple put noise and power saving first. Instead of saving your precious silicon from cracking. So the fan always speed up a bit too slow or a bit too late.
If your mini been operating in a dusty environment, dust clog could cause such issue. We often seen it on laptop but not so much on mini. This post has been edited by wei: Sep 6 2010, 10:23 AM |

QUOTE(frega @ Sep 6 2010, 03:50 PM) really? both my imacs were always at minimum fan speed, even when its up to 80+ C when gaming (OSX). What you're using to monitor the fan speed and temperature?QUOTE(beyond @ Sep 6 2010, 06:23 PM) The funny thing is, from iStatpro, sometimes the fan is at 0. Sometimes it s at 1500 rpm. How to fix this? That's not funny at all, your fan is giving issue and your mac already overheat and shutdown, you still don't want to send in for repair? What you waiting for? This post has been edited by wei: Sep 6 2010, 08:57 PM |

1) You've double posted, closed your other topic please?
2) Clock battery low will cause the clock reset everytime the mac power on, I never seen "slow-down" cause by battery before. 3) Check if you have set time zone correctly and did you select to set time zone automatically? This might change your time. 4) Else uncheck "Set date & time automatically", then set back the correct date time manually. If there are nothing wrong with your Mac, the date time should stay correct event after reboot. 5) If you happen to run Bootcamp, Windows might alter your date time. Very hard to say. But I still believe it's setting/software issue rather hardware.
