Previously I have heard someone complaining about some sort of electrostatic charge feeling on the MBP cover when you plugged in your 85W power adapter... Just wanna ask if anyone else facing this type of issue? But you have to brush it with your two fingers left to right to get the feel of it.. Whole palm couldnt get the feel...

I have a macbook 5,1 2.0Ghz

Is it normal for the battery health to drop by 3% after a year usage while the battery cycle is only 43 count?
*
3% only after a YEAR?
Damm. You must go buy TOTO already. LOL.

@tarvalslain87 dude, u can try calling Apple and see what they say.

@more2teayap of course, one to one exchange for the whole unit. It's unacceptable.

Especially those abused one in Starbucks. So Starbucks junkies be warned. I once saw with my own eye spark and smoke came out from one of the plug, lucky wasn't my charger that plug into it.

They have routing to multiple countries. Back in those days when they aren't that strict we actually get to chat a bit. Some in the past I spoken to are in Aussie, Hong Kong, US and India.

wei, was wondering this actually works  blink.gif gonna try it after i found the wire  biggrin.gif

It worked for me. But don't blame me if that break your charger or your Mac... unsure.gif

---------------

About the call, they will reroute to whichever is available. No fix "who gets who" kinda thing. What who fancy talking to the American? I'm glad if they get it done on first call, hate call waitings. So long they help me on what I want, thats it. It can be anyone.

If the problem repeat again, don't wait, call up AppleCare if you are not in town, or visit Service Center if you can reach them.

You can always mute the speaker and eject any disc. Move your laptop to somewhere quiet and pay attention as you start App or copy files.

A dying HDD often produce a clicking/kicking sound as if the drive spin up upon power on, but it will repeat itself in couple times.

It's hard to say but if you have backups, you should not fear much.
The sound are abnormal from the usual read/write sound, as if the drive is working extra hard, the sound get louder as it move closer to EOL. But this is only one of the many symptom from a dying drive. Some drive died never produce abnormal noise.

1. Yeah, any Apple Service Center can do it.
2. Which model is your MacBook/ MacBook Pro?
3. No, so long it's crack, doesn't matter how and why, it's not eligible for any warranty claim except you buy insurance from 3rd party. Which that's non-Apple related.

Send it to service center. All we do here is wild guess. If you really can't leave the Mac, try getting external burner for temporary usage. And I stress again, usual warranty repair like this will NOT TAKE WEEKS. 3-5 working days is the max.

For the record, it can even be done on the same day, on the spot.

Send to different place. The only 2 service center I will recommend is VR Tech & Sapura.

wei, have u ever installed FB-DIMM which not brought from Apple?n is it void any of the ACPP warranty if installing FB-DIMM brought from outside?
*
No issue, same apply to other Mac. Since they (Apple) say RAM is user installable, then it's ok to do so.
But like Eithanius mentioned, it's not always the case, i have a pair of FB-DIMM, when installed, the Mac Pro won't restart. But other than that it works fine. If I were to send the Mac Pro in for warranty, they might blame me for not using Apple RAM.

Get the DVD that say "Mac OS X Installation" that came with your Mac. Or retail Snow Leopard disc. Put in and boot from it. Once you selected language. The go to the Utilities menu choose Disk Utility and do a Repair on your hard drive.

i have a problem here..

my macbook is like 1 yr old but recently abt 2 weeks ago..when i charge it there is a message saying 'not charging".. i dont think it is because of the battery cos its like 1 yr old??? n i dont really use it 24 hours a day??? could it be due to the charger? or conflicts in the software? please help me

btw it happened after i installed the new software of mac - OS X Snow Leopard
*
First check if your charging port & connector is clean.

Second, try to do a SMC reset, then a PRAM .

Sometime let the battery drain and leave it connected will recover the charging.

You can also try update all the software update available.

Finally you should also call AppleCare for more troubleshooting guide.
