Heterosapiens, you hit bulls eye on the observations thumbup.gif

Btw, Khaosan Ninja looks nice. Last time i heard bad reviews on other Khaosans, so didn't go for it

Next time maybe we can organize a different gath, a crazier one, etc. cosplay gath or flash mob wearing baju melayu, just to attract attention (you guys know the japan media when it comes to crazy stuffs) laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

lol, I'm very conservative when it comes to public nudity. I would need a very BIG towel to even think of entering public onsen.

Regarding momusu concert, it was AWESOME!!! After been following them for almost 5 years, we get to see them performing right in front of our eyes. Superb experience. You should look at our loots for the concert. Half of my shopping expenditure was for Hello! Project merchandises tongue.gif Oi Oi Oi Oi!!!

hey

your flight ticket that you got was only RM1580 for return trip including tax? It was really cheap!

I have checked MAS, easily RM2500 for KUL -> Narita and return trip.
*
You can contact J-Horizons for more details. IIRC, the always have promotion for tickets bought in a group. Or you can wait for their seasonal ticket which could go as low as RM1350. You just need to hope it fits your timing and planning.
QUOTE(erictan26 @ Nov 2 2009, 04:45 PM)
actually for those intend to go tokyo, try to surf some japan web site, you can get a hotel room with attached bathroom below 6000yen per room ( for 2 persons )......much better than those b & b or hostel.
*
Somehow, I prefer backpackers hostel rather than a hotel, because of the environment and the people there are more friendly, I guess.

well, it is cheap, but how do we take flight from SIN-KUL-NRT? are we allowed to take the plane @ KUL instead? if yes, i guess i should be planning another trip soon next year!  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

there are hotel cheaper...with ensuite bathroom for two, i.e
koiwa sky court hotel - but a little out of town.
oak hotel : JPY7500 - from instantworldbooking

but i've yet to found any hotel (not ryokan/b&b/dormitories) with JPY6000 for two pax.
*
you need to take the flight from sin, means you may need to purchase a KL-SIN-KL flight ticket or bus. But with the budget air, you can get kl-sin well below rm100 net. With add in of this cost, the total cost still much cheaper than direct fly from KL. You may get rm1580 from japan air, but for airline ranking, i think MAS should be better ( just my personal opinion)

Actually, I've yet to come across this... do you have any suggestions which site has such offers?
I know that it might be possible if you're taking a package but I don't think I've actually seen just room package with a good deal like you just mentioned.

If you have a specific site to suggest; we can all benefit from it.  notworthy.gif
*
for hotel staying, may try this few sites.

1) http://www.superhotel.co.jp/en/index.html
- range from 6000 to 9000 yen depend you want a Big bed for 2, or 2 single bed for 2 persons. A big bed for 2 will be cheaper. Breakfast provided. Means you save 1000 yen per day for both

2) http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/index.html
- about the same as the above

3) www.jalan.net
- you can get 3 star hotel around 7000 to 9000 yen per room ( a double bed for 2), if you can read chinese, the japanese web is easy to surf.

3) http://www.ikyu.com/
- this site is for 4 star and above. Sometimes there got a bargain deal such like intercontinental, hotel nikko, le meridien etc, weill around 10000 to 12000 yen. This rate for tokyo top hotel is really really bargain.

all the above web need to register a member before you may any booking, create a log in name and password. For 1/2, you may email then if you are not a member and do not wish to be. For 3/4, you just need to simply fill up a japanese name, and copy and paste any address in japanese. When check in, you just need to show the confirmation email, whether the name match with your passport or not, that not the issue.
But in mind, for japan hotel booking, you need not to place any deposit or payment upfront. And you can cancel it 3 days before the intend staying date without any charges.
You may ask, how they charges us since they do not have any of our payment detail such like credit card. .The answer is they base on trust, as simple as that. SO, please..........cancel it if you have change your plan. If more and more foreigner take advantage of it, it may stop foreigner for such booking in advance. Please.........cancel it.

Added on November 3, 2009, 11:21 amif you all intend to visit some of the places like museum, tokyo tower, disneyland , concerts or any places need ticket admission, May visit those ticket shop located mostly outside the JR train station. You may save quite a amount.

Added on November 3, 2009, 11:27 amfor airport to city, purchase the narita express + suica package. Cost 3500 yen, minus out the suica card which worth 2000 yen, the narita express only cost 1500yen, is much better than bus or those normal train

http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/nex/suica_nex.html
but this only for airport to city, for city to airport routemay cost 3000 yen for one way.

for metro ticket( like singapore MRT ), may purchase the 2 days pass which cost only 980 yen. or 1 day ticket will be 600 yen.For a single trip for metro may cost you 180 yen , the 2 days pass only sell to foreigner and only can purchase at airport only.

Yes, you can just borrow some cash; bank-in; get the bank statement printed; then return the money to your parents. They just need to see the cash there. Better yet, since you're visiting someone here in Japan, get the person to issue you a guarantee letter and submit that along with your visa application. Refer here for more info on the guarantee letter and a template for the itinerary - http://www.my.emb-japan.go.jp/English/visit.html#C

I find that from end of Dec to Jan is still not extremely cold so, if you can have like a winter jacket that'll be enough... don't need to wear stuffs like long johns, gloves etc... After that, if it's still cold; then you can come to Japan and buy inner wears or a winter scarf.

As for expenditure... this really depends on the individual but in your case where your accommodation, food and transport is taken care of.. then I guess you should be quite comfortable with your 3-4k budget.
*
thank you so much for your explanation. i borrowed cash from my parents already and put into my account. im gonna print out bank statement and ill certified and chop on my own cause ima banker lol.

it seems like troublesome to do the guarantee letter. cause i need to have her copy of passport. she needs to scan and send the picture for me to print out right? and i need to request her info and write the guarantee letter some more. am i right?

thanks for the recommendation. i decided to buy one and borrow the rest. i just bought one jacket very cheap! rm130 at winter time cause they were doing sale thingy. if i need more ill just get it there. icon_rolleyes.gif

to everybody: if you guys want anything (light) from malaysia let me know. i can bring it but you guys have to collect it yourself around harajuku, shinjuku the place where ill be staying. cheers!!!

yeahh i still think flying with MAS is much easier since its malaysian based airlines. but flying KL-SIN-KL-TYO is abit hassle dont you think so? cause if youre flying from singapore might as well you use other airlines cus there are alot of options like NWA, ANA, Air China which is very cheap. in addition, more flexible flying dates too. i got mine for rm1.5k + 200 (air asia) = 1.7k. i think its alright cause i wanted a specific time and date. check www.asiatravel.com or www.travelocity.com
just my 2 cents

if only we can just buy ticket SIN-KL-TYO but hop on in KL that would make life easier

Bahasa Jepun diperluas ke semua sekolah
03/11/2009 2:28pm

KUALA LUMPUR 3 Nov. — Kementerian Pelajaran merancang menambah lebih banyak sekolah berasrama penuh dan sekolah menengah harian yang mengajar bahasa Jepun sebagai bahasa ketiga selepas bahasa Melayu dan Inggeris.

Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran, Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd.

- Bernama

Yup.

You'll need a photocopy of her passport if she's Japanese or if she's Malaysian staying in Japan; then a copy of the Alien Registration Card.
Just fill in all the information on the form and it's not necessary for her to physically sign it.

how much the cost for oak hotel? if 8500yen for twin bed, then i can sure you can get something around 7000 yen ( one double bed)/8500yen ( twin bed)and may be located at more prime area like shinjuku/ikeburoko. i am not referring to super hotel.

QUOTE(nasizwan @ Nov 4 2009, 10:35 AM)
moody5,
i got mine for 1.7k all in. rm1500 for ANA airways (would be fun to see jap stewardess lol) flying non-stop to NRT from SIN. And 200 return flight KL-SIN for airasia. its better to find cheaper alternatives if you can cause you can use those saved money for shopping! woot woot. i wanted to buy MAS at first cause its easier but come to think of it i only save few hours of hustle but i can save 700-800 if use different airlines. 800 can buy ipod during waiting time!  cool.gif  lol

kei-kun,
i wish i can just go into the bank's vault and take few hundred thousands and go to japan meet you guys everything will be on me!  thumbup.gif  but its only a wish tho *sigh. haha

tanoshi,
its my quote bro. pm me on the thing you wish for. i can use my money first if its not expensive and you can pay me back there. make sure its light alright? dont ask me to bring your gf or sister lol  smile.gif

i need some clarification on this
--> it seems like troublesome to do the guarantee letter. cause i need to have her copy of passport. she needs to scan and send the picture for me to print out right? and i need to request her info etc. and fill everything into the form. no sign needed right?

actually how much do I need for holiday in Japan for 2 pax??
*
My bf and i are saving money to go there on our own next year (not following tour)

So our budget will be RM10k per pax for 9 days 8 nights in Kyoto + Tokyo.

I am not sure whether is it feasible or not.. If still not enough, need to save a few months more..

tongue.gif I am eye-ing on cheap flight during Autum aka Nov 09
