print your statement from online banking them go get chop & signed from bank. its free.
just borrow winter cloth from your fren. no need to buy expensive at universal traveller. not worth it.

@erictan,
CIMB charges rm15 per account printing. but free to chop and signed if you print from your online statement.

how was the concert? did you see any bunch of group perform warmup for the concert? laugh.gif

hm...your friend with PTPTN problem, that's too bad. should be a checklist for those planning to fly. Tanoshi, please on the mainpage!

@erictan,
the flight ticket price is impressive....Current MAS - SIN to NRT promo is from SGD398 for travelling now until June 2010.... i searched for
depart : 23 FEB
SIN - KUL - TOKYO : SGD131

return : 1st March
NRT - KUL - SIN : SGD131

but, price with tax : SGD528. but
if u take flight from KUL - NRT and NRT - KUL, flight cost is RM2518.00. wtff.....  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
try to check other date, sure can get sgd398 nett( include taxes). i got my ticket dep: 21/12,rtn: 4/01.

if you got this sgd 398, dont need to check any other airline......guarantee is the cheapest........
and it is MAS, not budget air.

Added on November 2, 2009, 4:49 pmactually for those intend to go tokyo, try to surf some japan web site, you can get a hotel room with attached bathroom below 6000yen per room ( for 2 persons )......much better than those b & b or hostel.

well, it is cheap, but how do we take flight from SIN-KUL-NRT? are we allowed to take the plane @ KUL instead? if yes, i guess i should be planning another trip soon next year!  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

there are hotel cheaper...with ensuite bathroom for two, i.e
koiwa sky court hotel - but a little out of town.
oak hotel : JPY7500 - from instantworldbooking

but i've yet to found any hotel (not ryokan/b&b/dormitories) with JPY6000 for two pax.

you need to take the flight from sin, means you may need to purchase a KL-SIN-KL flight ticket or bus. But with the budget air, you can get kl-sin well below rm100 net. With add in of this cost, the total cost still much cheaper than direct fly from KL. You may get rm1580 from japan air, but for airline ranking, i think MAS should be better ( just my personal opinion)

Actually, I've yet to come across this... do you have any suggestions which site has such offers?
I know that it might be possible if you're taking a package but I don't think I've actually seen just room package with a good deal like you just mentioned.

If you have a specific site to suggest; we can all benefit from it.  notworthy.gif

for hotel staying, may try this few sites.

1) http://www.superhotel.co.jp/en/index.html
- range from 6000 to 9000 yen depend you want a Big bed for 2, or 2 single bed for 2 persons. A big bed for 2 will be cheaper. Breakfast provided. Means you save 1000 yen per day for both

2) http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/index.html
- about the same as the above

3) www.jalan.net
- you can get 3 star hotel around 7000 to 9000 yen per room ( a double bed for 2), if you can read chinese, the japanese web is easy to surf.

3) http://www.ikyu.com/
- this site is for 4 star and above. Sometimes there got a bargain deal such like intercontinental, hotel nikko, le meridien etc, weill around 10000 to 12000 yen. This rate for tokyo top hotel is really really bargain.

all the above web need to register a member before you may any booking, create a log in name and password. For 1/2, you may email then if you are not a member and do not wish to be. For 3/4, you just need to simply fill up a japanese name, and copy and paste any address in japanese. When check in, you just need to show the confirmation email, whether the name match with your passport or not, that not the issue.
But in mind, for japan hotel booking, you need not to place any deposit or payment upfront. And you can cancel it 3 days before the intend staying date without any charges.
You may ask, how they charges us since they do not have any of our payment detail such like credit card. .The answer is they base on trust, as simple as that. SO, please..........cancel it if you have change your plan. If more and more foreigner take advantage of it, it may stop foreigner for such booking in advance. Please.........cancel it.

Added on November 3, 2009, 11:21 amif you all intend to visit some of the places like museum, tokyo tower, disneyland , concerts or any places need ticket admission, May visit those ticket shop located mostly outside the JR train station. You may save quite a amount.

Added on November 3, 2009, 11:27 amfor airport to city, purchase the narita express + suica package. Cost 3500 yen, minus out the suica card which worth 2000 yen, the narita express only cost 1500yen, is much better than bus or those normal train

http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/nex/suica_nex.html
but this only for airport to city, for city to airport routemay cost 3000 yen for one way.

for metro ticket( like singapore MRT ), may purchase the 2 days pass which cost only 980 yen. or 1 day ticket will be 600 yen.For a single trip for metro may cost you 180 yen , the 2 days pass only sell to foreigner and only can purchase at airport only.

Added on November 3, 2009, 12:21 pmsome of the bargain.

1) shinkasen tour( bullet train)- you can safe more than 50% if you got this package. http://www.japanican.com/special/shinkansen/

2) tokyo free tour guide: it's free, you just need to pay your tour guide's transport fees if there is. http://www.tourism.metro.tokyo.jp/english/...vice/index.html
who knows they may allocate??

both the above only for foreigner.....

3) get the Mcdonald's coupon before you visit the shop. You may get 3 value meals at only 1000yen ( paying malaysia price)

http://www.mcdonalds.co.jp/sales/new/smileplus/index.php

4) visit supermarket 1 hour before the closing time, sushi pack and bento set will be half price or less.......just prepare to see many japanese aunties also.

i've surveyed some hotel here, still around 9000 yen for single bed for two person. so i'm betting for oak for value laugh.gif
now, this one is a good info! 2-days pass metro is worth taking since average cost would 600yen/day for metro to go to at least 2 places. with this, you can go much more places and avoid hassle of buying ticket, if our feet could handle the travelling. laugh.gif

nasizwan,
guarantee letter is required ya, dun forget. Alien Registration card is supporting document to that guarantee letter. still need to make the letter which guarantees your stay n expenses.

hm... i've yet to fly ANA, but JAL rm1580 "balik kampung" offer is good enough. but the trick to travel from KUL-SIN-KUL-TYO is more worth it , if the airasia is cheap!
*
remember that the metro 2 days pass cost 980 only available at airport , u must buy it when you reach. And only for tokyo metro and not two other major lines like JR and Toei line.

how much the cost for oak hotel? if 8500yen for twin bed, then i can sure you can get something around 7000 yen ( one double bed)/8500yen ( twin bed)and may be located at more prime area like shinjuku/ikeburoko. i am not referring to super hotel.
you may have a look at this
1) http://www.toyoko-inn.com/e_hotel/00078/index.html with brakfast, and this be their list http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/hotellist.html

2) some hotel list from jalan.net at ueno/asakusa arae( oak hotel), from 4800yen,
http://www.jalan.net/uw/uwp1400/uww1400.do...oomCrack=200000

3) shinjuku area- from 6300 yen
http://www.jalan.net/uw/uwp1400/uww1400.do...creenId=UWW1401

they do have other area list, you may check on it. BUT, all this just my little suggestion, u may skip it........

confirm confirm,

today went to collect visa, a malay guy is applying visa in front of me, when the girl saw the statemnet, said" tak cukup ", then the guy ask need how much per person, she reply " 10 ribu ".

my statement is 18k, even count in my kid, 18k/3, still enough if really 6k per person, but she still ask me" only this ", so i just attach another FD slip for application.

And you see 20k for a family of 5 they need in last time, but now 18k for 3 and 1 of it even is 4 years old kid only and still asking me " only this " ?
so i believe they may increase the minimum already...
