i wish i was in UK. doing visa is much easier there. here need those bank statements certified with chop and sign. problem is my bank is in UK and how the heck i going to get chop and sign from my bank in UK?

last time i use printed copy of my bank statement. not even original copy! and the Japan embassy in UK accepted it and grant my visa smile.gif

i not sure why Japanese embassy here is so strict sad.gif

afaik, their rules is strict to ensure the applicants are serious. you can just give them a call first regarding your UK bank.

anyway, some pic, the day before returning, went to hamarikkyu koen with wife's friends from yokohama..

stitched the pics, but unable to find better tool

Quote from a forum...

"I'm afraid your plan won't work. The reason is that Japanese prepaid phones (as most of the Japanese mobile phones) do not have an (U)SIM card. This means that the phone number is bound to the mobile phone that you buy and cannot be transferred to another phone.

The second thing is that it might be not so easy as you believe to buy a prepaied phone without a residence permit (alien card). Officialy (by law) the users of prepaid mobile phones must be registered. This means that you have to declare your residence address in Japan. Usually this is handled by asking to show your alien card.

As far as I know, in most shops (Vodafone and AU) if you are a tourist and don't have an alien card it is not possible to buy a prepaied phone (but note that before the registration duty this was different, so I guess what you have read in other forums is now out of date).

Maybe you might still find places where you get a prepaid phone just showing your passport, but keep in mind that (as far as I know) this is not legal."

This post was dated back in 2007, does is still applies now?
If we wan2 use their prepaid sim, hav to buy 2gether with the phone?

how about the rental ones, how does it works?

My fren was told by a phone shop staff... that it is cheaper to call back to malaysia/within japan using japanese prepaid sim... how true is that?

I just want to know the most convenient, and if possible cheaper way of communicating [phone] within japan and also back to msia... so far, i know got 2 options...

1] use malaysian 3g phone and 3g sim
2] use japan's 3g sim (but still quite blur about this)

pros and cons? help? tq in advance

Sis..
pro and cons is...you have a lots of money then you can buy a phone in Japan instead, (ada duit semua boleh buat)yeah its legal now worries, janji you ada duit!

Others is just use 3G from Malaysia..(kalau tak mampu la)just adapt it, so many other things more important.

see ya!

Apasal waifu's gundam you are the one assembling ? tongue.gif

My Gundam 00 raiser, siap kepala and chest only laugh.gif

Pasal Odaiba oso geram, i went all the way there but ntg much to see; just Pallete Town, Toyota Mega Web and Marine Park beach worth visiting. Itu pun 3 hours can get it done. In the end, i felt that staying at Sawanoya Ryokan was a bad idea, it's damn far from Ueno station.

waifu is interested with gundam for quite sometime but yet to own one cos she wanted the Endless Waltz deathscythe one. Could not find it here somehow. Me assembling the gundam with all my love wub.gif

for me, Toyota Mega Web ok la, tried the electric car, Japan GT car racing simulator, Fuji Speedway cinema simulation (damn shiok!). The merry go round was bigger than yokohama's!

Sawanoya was a bad idea? there's always next trip for better place.

of course got....but the price la shocking.gif
went to one in odaiba/venus fort

some puppy prices = JPY100K (shiba inu?)
kitten JPY55K

which my friend told me that the most expensive puppy in KL only around RM2k

anyway, bringing your 3g phone + prepaid is the easiest (to avoid overusage). for me, no roaming and using time gold/italk to call back msia.
used public phone to call tanoshi n psychzz (which i always did not put enuff coins laugh.gif )
