Thats why David plant is growing nice. Beside that, when I browsing some nice blog from Taiwan CP expert, they fertilizer their plant with orchid fertilizer. Now, Im try it. Hope will get good result from that.

Fertilizer that they use is 10times lesser then instruction.

If we keep our plant outdoor, I think it is a bit difficult for us to put a air pump to water tray. So far, I didnt facing any bad smell from it.

Drosera in enclosed tetarium... emmmm... Edmund have experience on that... Lets him explain it.

---------

PLL light is very hot if compare with FL light, but, distance that PLL can cover is longer then FL.
Ed tried with 3 PLL with 1ft+ distance

For fertiliser can use animal "poop"?Mayb in a lesser amount but can it b use?
*
Im not really sure it can use or not. What I worry is bacteria may forming in the media.

For nepenthes and sarracenia, you can use those slow release fertilizer. Those fertilizer is in round shape and there is water inside it. Fauzi and the others CP expert - Lau using it. Im just got it few weeks ago and using it now for my sarra and nepenthes

For others CP like drosera, VFT, they prefer liquid fertilizer. I think most of fertilizer in market is suitable to them, but not sure which 1 is the best, since, content of each brand is difference and serve with difference purpose. I think the best is those fertilizer that help in growing and not those flowering.

If we grow CP outdoor, CP will survive without fertilizing them since they will attract insect and EAT them... icon_idea.gif . As a taiwan expert said, many people able growing CP, but, not many people grow it nicely. In order to archieve that, we need to do something. Feed them or fertilizing them!!!! You can feed them with blood worm, but make sure quantity is not exceed as well.

Main point when using fertilizer to CP is... LOW QUANTITY. TRY on yours own risk. Yours CP may get burn if over fertilized

That is 101% sure!!!! Fly also can. Im lazy to catch them. So, I just brough those fridged blood worm and feed them. Dont need to catch them and i can feed my CP anytime Im free. drool.gif

If you have too many CP, it will take time. vmad.gif Thats why, im trying fertilizer them... icon_rolleyes.gif Still not sure really sure of the result.

you means, suffering from not enough water?
--> give them water tray. Get a transparent plastic beg and cover the whole pot to increase huminity. Put them in cool and shade place. pray they recover from that. sad.gif

For Botanical garden CP competition, main winner is Lau. Many of his plant got prize.

QUOTE(FoxNgan)
My CP is just too ugly to be posted as competition

btw, i decided to start off a very small CP terrarium, cover with terrestrial moss substrate inside those round/rectangle plastic container, what is the best way to keep it humid all the time? still using the tray of water.
If is so, do i still need to drill some hole below the plastic container?

Another thing is, those terrestrial moss should be able to grows on any substrate of moss right? such as peat, spagnum.
You can cover the tank with transparent plastic/glass. It will increase the humidity. If it is not satisfy, you can use air pump as David explained.

those moss can grow on that. Most important is it must be wet.

QUOTE(horndevil)
Walaueh!, slowly but surely there are cross overs from petpitcher.com and to top is off are the Taikohs like David, Edmund and not forgetting Casey himself. Check out his grow list and pics of his plants! That's astounding, man!
Newbies like myself are sure learning a lot from their advices! Thanks everyone.
I’m still at learning stage. Especially how to bring out CP potential color and shape. Most of time, Im still fail to do so…

Beside that, I still fail to propagate some CP like S. psittacina, S. scarlet belle. D. broomensis, D. derbyensis and others...

Okies.. will try to cover the container with some plastic first. Do i need to wet my substrate first before placing it in? currently i think i won't be using those pump yet. actually im just afraid i dunhav another big enough tray to put the plastic container inside.

Anyway, will try to make it first then see how's the progress running on.
Forget to tell you that, please leave a small gap at top of tank. Yea, wet substrate before put it in. Actually, if yours tank is big enough, you can put a 500ml mineral bottle at 1 corner and filled it with water and pump air into it. And find a way to hide the bottle.

I didnt did it before, im not sure what else we need to watch out when setup it. You may need to consider what light you going to use. Beside that, air circulation is the others thing that you may want to consider.

I remember now, I kill a pot of nepenthes as well. After that, I got a D. burmanii and red VFT from David. And I successfully grow them to adult size and successful propagate them as well...

I just kill a S. psittacina and D. derbyensis. sad.gif

D. adelea is choosy plant, require high humidity, cooler and shade place. Many people fail with it. You had done the best, so, just wait and see.

D. intermedia is hard plant. And it like water tray. Suppose no issue with that. May I have a photo of it before you repot it? I never experience with root rot at my drosera.

BTW, D. intermedia root is really tiny.

camillenoir, that is nice N. rafflesianas if im not wrong... It is yours? Nice!!!!! I dont really like N. rafflesianas, because normally it only have 2 or 3 pitchers, others will dry up.
