That is really nice video clip!!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif Im learning

For VFT, you dont to soap the VFT root into water, because VFT dont have much root... Sometime, there are just few string root attached to a big VFT only... Enjoy yours re potting time!!! biggrin.gif

HyourinMaru, well done.

you can plant urs VFT deeper. For the biggest plant, you can split it into 2. And you will end up with more VFT plantlets

Any idea wat type of light to get for CPs?No need to be long/big light,small-medium would do.
*
You can use those light for planted tank. Please make sure it is for plant, ya!!!! Light color is 6000K ~ 8000K is the best. You can use those FL T8 tube as well. The most common 1 is philips 865, 6500K tube. Which you can get it easily. If can, use e-ballast, so that it will not so hot. Beside that, you can use T5, T5HO or PLL as well. PLL is stronger, but hot.

Casey,so e-ballast the best 1?
>> Yea, e-ballast is better, better it didnt realise heat if compare with those normal ballast.

Normal lighting shop have them for sale right?
>> Not all lighting shop have it. Even have, you also need to tell them in cantonese. "Tin zhi fo gao"

Do you knw how much usually it cost?
>> Normally it will cost rm10~15. Depends on brand and wattage.

Please buy the correct wattage for yours lighting tube. Normally, e-ballast only have 20w, 40w. So, for 18w tube, please use 20w e-ballast, for 36w tube, please use 40w e-ballast. For others wattage, im not really sure.

For 18w tube, use 20w e-ballast

what budget should i prepare

Hi there, it is depends whether you want to grow indoor or outdoor. IF indoor, defanately you need more $$$ to buy light. And you need a lots of them as well. For outdoor, not much $$ needed, just a recycled transparent container is enough (if you just have few plants). Else, you can use a big tray as mine http://carnivorousplants.wordpress.com/200...er-tray-method/

It is great that the VFT doing well after repoted!!! Good job!!!!

For nepenthes, seems like the 1st plant is labeled wrongly. Im not good in ID plants doh.gif , I will get advice from expert and confirm the ID later. The 3 nepenthes is N. rafflesiana, this is confirm.

Added on November 28, 2010, 10:14 pmhi caseyhoo,
wan to ask, when i attempt to feed my vft recently some mealworms, it appears that the trap dies after a few days, wit the worms intact sealed for digestion.
is there any reason u might think causing it?

the worms are perfectly sealed and the traps are new bloom....
*
Sory for late reply.

I never tried using mealworms. It may because mealworm is too nutrient for VFT.

May I know each time you feed how many trap?

Forget to ask, how many days you feed yours VFT? If want to feed VFT, it is advice feed it every week/2 week. and only feed 1 trap.

You gv them full sun?
