So where can i get the cheapest 42X10K in KL? I saw a mobile Panasonic roadshow at Setapak near Kenny Rogers but didn't bother to enquire. I'm sure somewhere can get cheaper than RM3699.

I doubt Pana has warranty extension but if you want it go and buy from Best Denki or Harvey Norman, usually they will throw the 5 year warranty free. I find both the places, if you bargain well, can be as cheap as chinaman shop

No, Panasonic as well as other established manufacturers will not provide extended warranty for a fee. Usually, it is the warranty that it stated by them only. No such thing as 3+2 years warranty.

Then again, the extended warranty is sort of 'insurance' coverage for your tv. ALWAYS read the fine print before signing for it.

thks htkaki~ so this x10's official warranty is 3-yr; if i'm not mistaken i did see a buyer mentioned he get 5-yr warranty for the set, is that mean the additional "2-yr warranty" is covered by the shop rather frm panasonic? thks~

true. 3 years is more than enough. If a product can last more than 3 years, its likely to pass 5 years without any problems. Furthermore, in 3 years time, the 42 inch might even be below RM1000, so just buy a new one. No point spending extra on additional warraty. Remember, 42 inch used to be well over RM10k just a few years ago, now, its only RM2880

htkaki,

Do you do wall mounting of flat screen TV too? If yes, can give indicative quote?

Mine is a new house in PJ. Will need to install TV aerial too. Can include, how much?

I'm incline to LCD TV. Was told that it runs cooler and consume about 40% less electricity versus plasma. Would appreciate your views on this, especially whether this is true.

Will PM you later for a quote once HM decides on a particular model,

Meanwhile, cheers!

Yes, generally plasma tv has a higher power consumption than LCD TV.

For instance, 42X10K consumes 100W more than 42LZ80MK. LCD TV also runs hot.

We do install tv mount. As for the tv aerial, is it same as those antenna that we had on our roof?
