Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. Nice to meet you all. Well, I've a question to pose to the gurus of this forum. I'm in a dilemma right now. =S
I plan on getting a MBP 15", but it seems a little pricey. I was wondering whether waiting until year end would see a price drop till RM5k? Is it worth waiting though?
Also, whilst browsing through this forum, I read of this "student discount". As far as I know, this is only available to those in uni. Since I'm only 15, I was wondering whether Apple actually checks your student ID or can I just curi-curi get the discount without actually being a uni student?
LOL. I know I've asked many questions already, and I promise this is the last......two.
1) Which store offers the best offers as of now, or when is there going to be a sale where the price drops?
2) Does Mac have to get ACPP, since I own a White Mac now for 3+ years and nothing has happened?
All suggestions and recommendations welcomed, and thank you very much!!!!
Also, if I have posted this at wrong section or violated some rule, I apologize. (this is my first post! >.<)
MBP is really cheap right now compared to before. i dun think it will reach rm5k in this year, in fact i dun think will got any major updates. hopefully the base 15" model rm5899 is okay for u. if not, probably can look for refurbished units.
actually got another place to get student discount... go to
http://store.apple.com/my n click on the Education Store on the left. they randomly check for identification, sometimes they ask for student ID etc, sometimes they dont ask at all. the education price for the base 15" model is rm5599. free shipping of course.
n for the last two questions
1) even during 'sales' the MBP price wont drop. sales would normally just include freebies or tie-in purchase offers. but personally i find the freebies either useless (cooling balls) or too cheap feeling (laptop sleeves). no idea when, and also which reseller will have the best offer.
2) ACPP hard to say lah. of course there's a chance for u to spend 1k+ for ACPP, but u wont encounter a single problem in 3 years. but there's also a chance for u to NOT buy ACPP, n have a dead logic board / faulty display / faulty battery etc within the 3 years. get ACPP for a peace of mind. if not, just make sure u can afford a new computer after 1 year should anything happen.
oh, and welcome!!!
