If you are looking at 1 session then you could probably do it right, you should probably turn back home. You'd need a hell load of commitment for this shit. May the weights be with you |

QUOTE(shanecross @ May 30 2009, 08:48 AM) Im not pizzaboy for the record. I'll teach him the clean/snatch pull, then power clean ad power snatch. This way, when he gets used to the movement with the empty bar, he'll be able to learn to drop under himself as time goes by when he feels more comfortable. From the post above, I can see that you want to learn cnj and snatches obviously.. lol .. Pizzaboy,
Will DB snatch mess with my snatch form in the future, since I've not learned the snatch yet. And is snatch movement similar to the clean? What I mean is that will I be able to figure out by myself how to snatch using clean movements? |

No. The mechanics of the extension is similar, but the bend of your torso and angle is completely different. Which then....yeah makes it a different movement anyway. Even a power clean and squat clean is different mechanics (power uses more back) so let's not even start talking about the snatch. |

Aiseh, that means DB snatches is not recommended (for now) if I intend to learn oly snatch in the future. Crap.
For the snatch, I start in the clean position, pull the bar up & drop into overhead squat position, then squat? I went to Gayle Hatch's site to see the difference between power and full clean. I ain't seein' no difference yo! I'll record a video of my CnJ and post them up for you to check. I'm probably doing it without hip drive (what the heck does it actually means anyway?), jump and shrug not synchronised. And what's glute activation? |

Pull the bar to height, extend your hips and shrug upwards and race the bar down at the end of the extension (because of the momentum you've applied on the bar) and catch. For the snatch, I start in the clean position, pull the bar up & drop into overhead squat position, then squat? If I can explain on LYN, I might as well write a book already. There is a slight, but still in weightlifting, slight=significant. 3. What glute activation?? |

Thanks for your advice but i just want to learn the correct way to do it just so i won't injure myself and increase my vertical jumps.
