Integrated graphic cards are like those from Intel.
Intel GMA series is an example of integrated graphic card.
They have a small amount of dedicated memory and share some memory from your RAM.
As a result, the performance of integrated graphic cards are penalised because they occupy the system bus.

Dedicated graphic cards are usually from  Nvidia and ATI.
They have their own dedicated memory and might share extra memory from the RAM,too.
However, dedicated graphic cards have larger dedicated memory and better processors.
They do not occupy the system bus as much as integrated graphic cards.
As a result, the performance of dedicated graphic cards are better compared to integrated ones.

Got another question, blush.gif if you don't mind
Are all ATI and NVIDIA, dedicated graphic cards?

What does this mean?
"Up to 1536MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 HyperMemory"
It doesn't say how much dedicated memory it has.... Sorry a lot of questions rclxub.gif notworthy.gif

hi, how is this baby preform on photoshop?
Is the ati and the intel gpu got lot different?
My aim is to do some simple graphic in photoshop and web programming.
Now I wonder it is good to get this or the C2D.
I knowC2d cheaper models will lack for graphic, Ram can add.
If compare the CD and C2D, how is the heat and power consumption?

It is fine with photoshop and programming. My ATi X2300 performs well for my photoshop stuff and programming.

I understand probably not everyone will go through 25 pages in this tread for answers.

1. The CPU for this laptop is actually a C2D, but with half the cache memory. It's a good starting point to do more research.

2. The ATI graphic card scores 4.1 in Window Experience (Vista). I personally feel the GPU bottlenecks my gaming experience (new games) but I know I would be asking too much from a RM2.1K lappy.

The processor for 4730ZG is Dual Core T4200 which is the SAME chip as C2D T6400. You won't notice the performance difference.
Pentium Dual Core and Core 2 Duo are just marketing terms.

Bingo. It is Intel's marketing strategy to kill AMD. Thanks to AMD, we can get a good processor at this price :-)

Exactly. I'm hoping those that plan to buy do some research & reading and let them figure out the bargain this laptop has to offer themselves.

yesterday a friend of mine on other forum buy this lappie.
he installed XP SP2,then installed NFS underground 2 and PES 2009...but both of them didn't responding...only a blank screen is loaded.
from my point of view; the 3470 should run them without problem.

I wonder, anyone tested this lappie on those games?
