u could try ask around. Either there is no freebies or those common types such as a mousepad or a notebook cooler or a pendrive.

QUOTE(ashburn98 @ Apr 14 2009, 06:17 PM) I rather get the RM2080 with basic freebies than RM2199/RM2160 (what I paid for) with additional freebies honestly. At least I can shop for the accessories I want. Yes, they will try rectify the backlight bleeding for you. If they mention that it is within the specs just insist ur standing. Eventually they will giveup and replace another panel or backlight led for you. I tot that there is only one colour avail for this model ? that is the dark blue, but seems like black at some times as it is really a dark dark blue.Backlight bleeding is owning me to the max. I don't know if it just me who's unlucky or it's affected all 4730ZG units. Anyone knows if Acer service centre will rectify backlight bleeding? One thing I didn't realise is I was given a Dark Blue colour model. I thought it comes as Black. I prefer Black to Dark Blue. Uninstalled most of the Acer crap & trial softwares. Haven't install games yet on this laptop nor ran benchmarking tools yet. |

Better head for service centre or if it's within 7days of purchase and ur warranty seals are not broken. You can exchange 1 to 1 from your dealer and it's an Acer policy.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Same for you guys or I'll be heading to the service center soon? |

QUOTE(hafz @ Apr 18 2009, 01:21 PM) windows vista cannot boot Good to hear that. Vista easily cant boot even by changing it settings/registry, maybe microsoft purposely made it like tat. Warranty for software is 60days, after 60days if software problem need reload OS then Acer service centre will charge rm120 for it. So use Alt+F10 before goin to service centre make some bios setting adjustment after that enter recovery mode alt +F10 and now problem solved without going to acer HQ may be my vista problem arise after do some registry cleaning using specific software...i forgot what name of software... |

XP installer files unable to read Sata mode drive and can ony detect IDE mode instead. Same goes to all notebooks, if one wants to install XP to their notebooks that are newer generations. Try enter the bios and set the Sata mode to IDE or native IDE. Else is BSOD ocasionally even you got the XP installed sucessfully on Sata mode.

QUOTE(PrincZe @ Apr 19 2009, 03:33 PM) er..depends lo..for me dual booting de best..and if u feel safe and secure with xp..stick with xp.(meaning ur programmes might not work in some way) Nope if everything goes normally. It does not effect programs installed previously on vista. Since dual booting is installing Xp on another location.so enter bios, change it to sata..will it affect other programme previously installed inside vista? |

QUOTE(PrincZe @ Apr 20 2009, 07:30 PM) why do u call it as layman term?sorry im new here lol layman's term = more easier or simple means. Hmm if ure doing fine with your current setting then why bother to change it ? Just change it when u cant install xp or get BSOD while starting up/installing. Just leave it if nothing wrong as ur bios does not need to 'trick' ur os lol ..so changing it wont affect my settings..size and all that? |

Acer nowadays does not provide the recovery cd anymore. Need to make urself from the Acer module. Applicable to those that comes with OS license. There should be a Resource CD for drivers and applications.
